The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

Pros: Provides a natural look and feel, with a success rate of up to 98%. Offers a permanent solution compared to removable dentures, enhancing comfort and function.
Cons: Requires sufficient bone density, which may necessitate bone grafting. Longer treatment time compared to other options like All-on-4 implants.
Effectiveness: Success rate up to 98%.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 3-6 months
Best for: Single missing tooth replacement, maintaining jawbone health, and improving oral function.
Prices: Cost of Installation of a dental implant with crown in Thailand from $662

Dental Implant with Abutment

Tooth implant involves placing a titanium post into the jawbone, serving as a root for a dental prosthesis like a crown.

Pros: High success rate of 95% due to osseointegration. Provides a natural look and feel, unlike removable dentures.
Cons: Requires adequate bone density and health. Surgical procedure may lead to discomfort and swelling for a few days.

FAQ about Dental Implant in Thailand

What Is Dental Implantation?

Teeth implantation is a dental prosthetic in which doctors completely restore a missing tooth or teeth, including roots and crowns. Dental implantation is especially useful for treating dementia (tooth loss).

🔩Dental implants consist of three parts:

  • The screw (titanium post) is placed in the jawbone.

  • The abutment connects the post to the replacement tooth.

  • The crown is the visible, tooth-like part of the implant.

🦷Dental implantation is a procedure where a titanium post is placed in the jawbone to act as a root for a new tooth. Over time, the post bonds with the bone, creating a solid base for a crown that looks and works like a natural tooth. It's a reliable way to replace missing teeth.

What Are The Types Of Dental Implants Treatments?

Each type is designed for different international dental needs, providing options for replacing a single tooth or restoring an entire mouth.

Dental Implants Description
Single Tooth Implants Replaces one missing tooth with an implant and an artificial tooth for a natural look and function.
All-on-2 Uses two implants to support a full set of replacement teeth, suitable for those with limited bone.
All-on-4 Uses four implants to support a complete set of replacement teeth, offering a stable solution.
All-on-6 Uses six implants to support a full set of replacement teeth, providing extra stability and support.
Implant-Supported Bridge Replaces several adjacent missing teeth using implants to hold a dental bridge in place.
Mini Implants Are smaller in diameter and are used in cases with less bone density or to stabilize dentures.

What Techniques Of Dental Implantation Are Available?

  • One-stage surgery—this method is used to place an abutment during an operation. An abutment attached to the gum tissues connects the implant and the bone into the mouth. The procedure is carried out only once and does not require much effort.

  • Two-stage surgery — this is a classic method of tooth restoration. A procedure is applied to replace teeth if there is no immediate need for a cosmetic solution. A surgeon puts the implant into the jawbone for healing. After this process, the surgeon performs the second surgery to place the abutment and a crown.

  • Implantation after tooth removal is the easiest method after the root is removed. A surgeon places the implant and augments a supragingival part of the tooth.

What Are The Additional Surgeries For Dental Implants?

🦷 Sometimes, extra surgeries are needed to make dental implants stable and successful. These procedures prepare the jawbone and surrounding tissues, creating a solid implant base. Here are the most common ones:

  • Bone Grafting. Adds bone to the jaw if it's too weak for an implant.

  • Sinus Lift. Raises the sinus floor to make room for implants in the upper jaw.

  • Ridge Expansion. Widens a narrow jawbone to support implants.

  • Soft Tissue Grafting. Enhances gum thickness for better implant stability and aesthetics.

Why Choose Dental Implants in Thailand?

💰 Affordable Costs

Dental implants in Thailand are 60-70% cheaper than in the US or UK. For example, a single tooth implant costs between $760 and $1,300 in Thailand, compared to $3,000-$7,000 in the US.

✅ High Quality

Thai clinics use top implant brands like Straumann and Osstem, ensuring high durability. These clinics are part of Thailand's trusted international dental network and adhere to high standards, including International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications.

👨‍⚕️The Best Dental Implant Thailand Specialists

Thai dentists typically have over 10 years of experience, with many trained internationally. They are skilled in using advanced technologies and techniques, ensuring patient comfort with sedation options.

🛡️ Comprehensive Care Packages

Thailand offers all-inclusive international dental packages that cover not only the implants but also consultations, follow-up visits, and sometimes even accommodations and transfers. This holistic approach ensures seamless care throughout the treatment journey.

How Do Thai Specialists Implant Teeth?

Specialists follow a detailed process to ensure the implant bonds well with the jawbone. This creates a strong base for a new tooth that looks and works like a real one. Here's a simple overview of how it works.

🗓️ Consultation & Planning

The specialist examines the patient's mouth and uses X-rays or 3D imaging to assess the jawbone and plan the implant placement.

🔩 Implant Placement

During surgery, the dentist inserts a titanium post into the jawbone, which acts as a tooth root. This procedure usually takes 1-2 hours under local anesthesia.

⏳ Healing & Osseointegration

The implant fuses with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This healing period typically lasts 3-6 months.

🔗 Abutment Placement

Once healed, an abutment (a small connector) is attached to the implant to hold the crown in place.

🦷 Crown Attachment

Finally, a custom-made crown is secured to the abutment, completing the process with a natural-looking replacement tooth.

See the whole process in the video.

Who Needs Dental Implants?

🦷 Dental implants offer a life-changing solution for those dealing with tooth loss. But is this treatment right for everyone? Here are five scenarios where dental implants can make a significant difference:

  • After Tooth Loss from Injury. This procedure is perfect for those who've lost a tooth due to an accident and need a permanent replacement.

  • Frustrated with Dentures. Ideal for people tired of the discomfort or instability of dentures and seeking a more secure alternative.

  • Facing Bone Loss. Beneficial for those who've lost bone but want to prevent further issues.

  • Struggling with Eating. Great for those who have trouble enjoying meals due to missing teeth and want to restore full chewing ability.

  • Seeking a Confident Smile. Ideal for anyone wanting to regain confidence with a smile that looks and feels natural.

❗For some people, dental implants are the most comfortable way to restore lost teeth; for others — this way is the only one possible. Conventional dentures and bridges are not suitable for those who suffer from diseases of the oral mucosa, have weak alveolar processes, and suffer from nausea while wearing conventional prostheses.

What Are the Risks and Complications of Dental Implants?

Getting dental implants in Thailand is generally safe and effective for replacing missing teeth.

The study found an early survival rate of 91.40% for dental implants, with 117 out of 128 implants being successfully retained. These findings highlight the effectiveness of dental implants in maintaining a high survival rate in the early stages after placement.

However, like any surgery, there are risks and potential complications:

  • Infection. Improper oral hygiene after surgery can lead to infection at the implant site, affecting surrounding bone and gum tissue.

  • Implant Failure. The implant may not properly integrate with the jawbone, leading to movement or rejection by the body.

  • Nerve Damage. There's a slight chance of damaging nearby nerves, which could cause numbness or tingling in the lips, gums, or tongue.

  • Sinus Issues. Implants in the upper jaw may penetrate the sinus cavity, potentially causing infections or other problems.

  • Jawbone Damage. The drilling process can harm the jawbone, especially if the bone density is insufficient.

  • Bleeding/Swelling. Some patients might experience excessive bleeding or swelling after surgery, which can lead to further complications.

  • Allergic Reactions. Though rare, allergic reactions to implants' materials, like titanium, are possible.

  • Peri-implantitis. If not addressed, this inflammatory condition around the implant can lead to bone loss and implant failure.

What Are The Dental Implant Brands Used In Thailand?

The best dentist in Thailand for implants uses several top-rated dental implant brands known for their quality, advanced technology to treat missing teeth and high success rates. These implants are designed to integrate well with the body.

A study on Osstem implants found a seven-year cumulative survival rate of 97.3%. Over an average follow-up period of 62 months, the implants had a success rate of 94.2%. These results indicate that Osstem implants are highly stable and have low failure rates over time, even considering various influencing factors. This makes Osstem implant Thailand an attractive option for international dental patients seeking reliable and long-lasting dental solutions.
