How Much Does Forehead augmentation (implant) Cost in Turkey?

Forehead augmentation (implant) in Turkey typically costs from $3,200 to $6,000. The total price depends on the choice of implant material, the surgeon's expertise, and the clinic's location. Patients save around 62% compared to the US, where the average price is $12,000. Standard packages in Turkey usually include the custom implant, surgeon fees, hospital stay, hotel accommodation, and airport transfers.

  • Implant material: Costs vary based on using custom-made silicone, Medpor, or specialized bone cement.
  • Customized premium cases: Specialized procedures involving orbital wraps or glabella implants may reach significantly higher price points.
  • City-specific pricing: Packages in Istanbul medical hubs may cost 15-20% more than in Izmir or Antalya.
  • Combined facial procedures: Adding a forehead lift or reduction during the same session increases the total cost.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a university-affiliated hospital like Memorial Şişli or Medipol provides access to multidisciplinary teams. These JCI-accredited facilities often handle complex maxillofacial reconstructions alongside aesthetic cases. For instance, Memorial Göztepe features AI-supported 3 Tesla MRI for precise pre-surgical mapping. While luxury clinics exist, these large medical complexes offer high-tech infrastructure and FEBOPRAS-certified specialists at competitive all-inclusive rates.

My surgeon was great; he was honest about what results were realistic for my body and clearly explained all the risks, which gave me confidence
If you're thinking about this, my main piece of advice is to be mentally ready for the procedure, as it can be overwhelming. I’m in early recovery from my breast reduction and lift, and I am feeling better than expected. My surgeon was great; he was honest about what results were realistic for my body and clearly explained all the risks, which gave me confidence. The clinic team was easy to reach and stayed in touch. Do be aware of some additional expenses – I had a prescription that cost extra at the pharmacy. A few practical tips: bring a spare compression garment, cotton t-shirts to wear underneath it, and your own snacks. Also, having my mum with me has been pivotal to my recovery, so I'd suggest bringing a companion if you can.
The co-ordinator at Bookimed, Winnington was brilliant. No matter how many questions I had he was able to answer them promptly and with one small hiccup from the hospital Winnington went out of his way to try and package a new procedure for me. My co-ordinator Eyyub at Optimed hospital was outstanding. The hospital was great, the staff on my floor were fantastic. We used goggle translate when the co-ordinator wasn’t with us if we came up against a language barrier but that was not very often. I was cared for before and after my surgery by the nursing staff who could not do enough for myself and my mum. I 10000000% recommend Bookimed & Optimed hospital
Post op instructions could be better. I have suggested to them to put together a general guide of what to do and not to do and for however long. What’s normal and if something doesn’t feel right who to contact etc. I think this will greatly help international patients and help the hospital co-ordinators from being hounded with a load of questions from several patients all at once. Peace of mind for the patient and a little more support for the co-ordinator. The food is catered for Turkish patients and can be hard for international patients to eat. Again, I have suggested to them to try having a small box of fibrous cereal available at breakfast time and instead of a full meal at lunch time something simple like sandwiches or rolls/bagels/baked goods. Dinner was usually ok and we were able to eat most of that but our daytime diet is a little less than they were providing and there was a lot of food waste which they could minimise & use the money elsewhere if there was a cater to international patients diets.

The single positive aspect of this entire process was the staff. They were wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience with the surgeon and the clinic itself was profoundly disappointing, and I'm very concerned with how my otoplasty recovery is going so far. The gap between the supportive staff and the actual medical treatment I received is hard to understand. The facility did not meet my expectations for a medical setting in any capacity. Based on this, I would absolutely not recommend this clinic to anyone considering a similar procedure.
Do not go with bookimed.com. I didn’t liked from the moment when I arrived to airport anyone wasn’t there to pick me up, you know when you arrive any place you have no internet and you can’t make any phone calls or text so night mares already start.

The surgeon and the clinic itself were excellent
The possibility of breathing issues was my primary concern going into this. And honestly, that has been the biggest challenge in recovery so far, with one nostril constantly feeling stuffed. My surgeon performed a closed rhinoplasty. Everything is still very swollen along the bridge, but I can already see that my nose tip appears more refined, which is a great sign. The surgeon and the clinic itself were excellent. The general staff were great, though post-op instructions could have been a bit more explicit. I'm satisfied with the medical care I received so far
Dr. Erol is an amazing doctor, his work was amazing he truly listened to my request and expectations and he was really patient and reassuring. The medical assistance team as well, they really took good care of me, they were present when i needed them.
post-op instructions could’ve been explained better

I felt in such safe hands throughout and would recommend my surgeon Dr Yunus Emre Seker and his team to anyone
I loved the coordinator / interpreter. Totally made me feel at ease and comfortable in what I would only describe as an anxious situation especially with the language barrier and the unknown of where you are going. The surgeon himself was wonderful and even had a coffee with me before hand which made me feel completely at ease. I felt in such safe hands throughout and would recommend my surgeon Dr Yunus Emre Seker and his team to anyone. Thank-you so much :)

The lift in my jowls is already a dramatic improvement
My biggest worry was how the final result would look, and whether it would be worth the recovery. Even though I’m still quite puffy around my jawline, the lift in my jowls is already a dramatic improvement. That part is a huge relief. The staff and clinic environment were excellent from start to finish. Turning my head feels slightly tight but okay. The surgeon did good work, though I rated them a 4/5 as I felt some communication could have been a bit more compassionate after surgery. The most challenging part has absolutely been sleeping elevated. That's no fun. I would still recommend this clinic.
The Bookined coordinator and the Quartz Clinic staff were fantastic: supportive, helpful, compassionate. All updates were communicated to me promptly. The hotel booked for me is really excellent, with smooth transfers and kind drivers. Spot on!
I didn't give the doctor 5 stars because she made me cry the day after surgery. She could adopt a different approach towards me after surgery, with more understanding and compassion, especially since I was there on my own and at the end of the day, she's received all the information required, it doesn't matter from whom. The stress has a significant impact on me. Aside from that, she was great.

The moment I saw the result, even with the initial swelling, I could tell the shape was exactly what I wanted
The moment I saw the result, even with the initial swelling, I could tell the shape was exactly what I wanted. It’s a great feeling. My goal was a more defined tip, and that's precisely what the surgeon delivered using an open approach. The whole process was smooth, and the staff were genuinely caring. The most difficult part of recovery so far is just having to sleep upright, which is temporary. A huge bonus is that I am breathing perfectly through my nose already. I am so grateful for the surgeon's skill and the clear communication from the team.

the care provided by the surgeon and all the staff was impeccable
If you’re thinking about arm liposuction, I’d advise you to prepare for the recovery. My surgeon used the VASER ultrasound technique and, although it’s still early days, my compression sleeves are already too loose. My mobility is limited; my biggest difficulty right now is reaching for things above my head. It’s also important to be patient with the results, because when I look in the mirror today, I can see that one arm looks different from the other, and I’m confident that will even out over time. Despite these minor aspects of the process, the care provided by the surgeon and all the staff was impeccable. I would recommend the clinic.

The surgeon and staff were brilliant and supportive throughout
My biggest worry was ending up with an unnatural shape, but the surgeon’s approach and clear communication completely put me at ease. Right now, things still look a little patchy as about half the transplanted hairs have fallen out, which I was told to expect during this early stage of healing. It’s a process. The biggest challenge has honestly been a personal one: just remembering to avoid touching them! The surgeon and staff were brilliant and supportive throughout. While the clinic facilities were fine, the personal care from the team made all the difference. I'm very satisfied with my choice.

Right now, I am feeling better than expected
I remember seeing the computer imaging of my new nose during the consultation and feeling confident. My surgeon was very honest about what was realistic, and I appreciated that he personally handled everything from that first meeting to the surgery itself. He performed an open rhinoplasty to reshape my bridge and tip. Right now, I am feeling better than expected. The clinic staff has been great with follow-up; they've stayed in touch, are easy to reach, and gave me a clear aftercare guide. It was also reassuring that there were no additional expenses. If you're wondering what to bring, don't worry—they prepare you for everything, and nothing was missing for me.
Everything was wonderful, we are very satisfied, everyone was helpful and very kind and the results are the best.

The surgeon did an excellent job – the incisions were made using the traditional method and are now hidden in the natural folds of the skin
I was worried that the scars from the upper and lower eyelid surgery would be noticeable. Fortunately, the surgeon did an excellent job – the incisions were made using the traditional method and are now hidden in the natural folds of the skin. I have no complaints about him whatsoever. However, the overall impression was greatly marred by the clinic itself, where the conditions were unsatisfactory. Recovery is still ongoing. My eyes are still swollen, and I’ve noticed that when I smile, one side looks slightly different. I hope this will pass. The main advice I would give to anyone considering this procedure is to prepare thoroughly for the period before and after the operation.

I breath perfectly now after surgery and my nose is a lot straighter
I felt very secure and taken care of through the entire experience. All of my inquiries were answered very promptly by both the bookiemed coordinator, the assistant, and my doctor (Dr. C Altindąg), is very experienced and talked me through what to expect and analyzed my nose very thoroughly. I breath perfectly now after surgery and my nose is a lot straighter (I had a severe deviated septum and other complications from a past surgery that he identified and corrected including a mirgrated graft and a droopy tip). I'm still quite swollen but look forward to seeing final results in a few months.

We will be going back for other treatment and truly can’t recommend them enough
Sitting in the clinic in Antalya, the surgeon explained how the laser-assisted technique for my upper eyelids would function during the procedure. The whole service was smooth and we had a fantastic time throughout our stay. The aftercare was good. I was thrilled with how my eyes looked at 12 days, although at day 15 my biggest challenge is that they are still puffy. My eyes look natural and smooth when I smile. It is a process. We will be going back for other treatment and truly can’t recommend them enough. If you are considering eyelid surgery, ensure you have a few weeks to let the initial swelling settle.

I now feel better than I expected
What I remember most about the whole process was the doctor’s approach. Before the operation, he personally marked the incision lines on my upper eyelids and honestly explained what I could realistically expect from the result. The procedure was carried out under general anaesthetic, and I now feel better than I expected. It was a great help that the doctor personally checked on me after the operation, and the clinic provided clear aftercare instructions. There were no additional costs. The only advice I would give to future patients is to make sure you confirm the exact date and time of the operation in advance.

But the calmness and poise of the doctor and his team completely dispelled my doubts
I liked everything overall. Initially, I was very afraid, starting with the flight to another country, the transfer to the hotel and the operation itself. But the calmness and poise of the doctor and his team completely dispelled my doubts. 5 hours after the operation I returned to the hotel. Which is also very good because the hospital ward is the worst for me. Exactly after a week I took off the splint, my nose was still swollen. The nose is proportional to my face. When the swelling goes down it will be smaller

The service provided by the surgeon and the staff was excellent from start to finish
My biggest concern was about the clarity of the process and the final costs. In that respect, everything went well. The medical team were very professional and put me at ease before the procedure, which involved an injection of temporary hyaluronic acid, up to 10 ml. Everything went according to plan. One important thing to note: there were additional costs that weren’t included in the initial payment to the clinic, so you need to allow for that. I’m still at the start of my recovery, but the service provided by the surgeon and the staff was excellent from start to finish.

FAQ about Forehead augmentation (implant) in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to have this surgery in Turkey?

Forehead augmentation in Turkey is safe when performed by board-certified surgeons in JCI-accredited hospitals such as Memorial Şişli. Safety depends on choosing specialists with FEBOPRAS or ISAPS credentials who utilize high-quality materials like custom PEEK or porous PEKK implants to ensure biocompatibility and precise placement.

  • Surgeon credentials: Prioritize surgeons with FEBOPRAS certification to ensure European-standard surgical training and expertise.
  • Hospital accreditation: Select facilities with Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for rigorous patient safety protocols.
  • Implant quality: Use custom PEEK or PEKK materials instead of silicone to reduce displacement risks.
  • Clinical setting: Ensure the facility has an on-site intensive care unit to manage rare complications.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a significant experience gap between general plastic surgeons and craniofacial specialists. While many clinics offer `aesthetic` forehead work, safety increases dramatically with doctors like those at Medipol Acıbadem who hold international fellowships in maxillofacial surgery. These experts typically handle higher volumes of complex bone-structure cases, which reduces the risk of nerve damage compared to budget-tier cosmetic centers.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize the importance of staying in Turkey for at least 14 days rather than the minimum 5. This allows for critical early monitoring of implant stability and prevents the risk of infection or displacement during high-altitude flights.

What are the potential risks?

Potential risks of forehead implants in Turkey include infection, implant displacement, and nerve damage causing long-term numbness. Patients should also consider the risk of aesthetic dissatisfaction due to visible implant edges or asymmetry. Successful outcomes depend on choosing surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities such as Memorial Şişli Hospital.

  • Nerve injury: Chronic numbness or pain in the forehead may persist for 6 or more months.
  • Implant complications: Infection or extrusion might occur within weeks, sometimes requiring emergency surgical removal.
  • Aesthetic concerns: Visible implant edges or excessive projection can create an unnatural chipmunk effect.
  • Recovery issues: Significant swelling often lasts 3 to 6 months before final results appear.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Forehead augmentation is highly specialized, moving beyond standard plastic surgery into craniofacial territory. Our data shows that top-tier results come from surgeons like Dr. Burak Özkan at Medipol, who holds European Board (FEBOPRAS) certification and specific craniofacial training. Choosing a multidisciplinary hospital with neurosurgical backup, such as the Memorial group, provides an essential safety net for these complex procedures.

Patient Consensus: Many patients emphasize that persistent swelling can hide the final shape for nearly a year. They also frequently advise testing the look with temporary fillers before committing to a permanent implant.

What does the surgical procedure involve?

Forehead augmentation in Turkey involves placing a biocompatible implant, such as silicone or 3D-printed porous polyethylene, through a small incision to enhance forehead contour. Surgeons often perform this 1-2 hour procedure under general anesthesia at JCI-accredited facilities like Memorial Şişli Hospital to ensure patient safety and precision.

  • Surgical access: Surgeons use a 4-6 cm coronal or pretrichial hairline incision for hidden scarring.
  • Implant customization: Advanced clinics offer 3D-printed implants created from patient CT scans for anatomical precision.
  • Fixation method: Specialists like Dr. Burak Özkan use medical screws or sutures to prevent implant shifting.
  • Hospital stay: Most Turkish protocols require 1 night of hospitalization for monitoring and initial recovery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from top Istanbul clinics shows a growing preference for 3D-printed implants over generic silicone. While custom implants cost more, they significantly reduce the need for minor post-op tweaks. Choosing a surgeon with Maxillofacial specialization, like those at Medipol University, ensures the implant integrates seamlessly with your unique bone structure.

Patient Consensus: Many patients recommend budgeting 10–14 days in Turkey to manage peak swelling. Using loose hats helps camouflage bandages, while early monitoring for asymmetry ensures any minor adjustments are handled during free follow-ups.

What is the recovery timeline for international patients?

International patients undergoing forehead augmentation in Turkey typically require 7 to 10 days before flying home safely. While primary swelling and bruising subside within 2 weeks, internal stabilization continues for 3 to 6 months as the implant settles into its final position.

  • Travel safety: Patients should stay in Turkey 7 to 10 days post-surgery.
  • Initial recovery: Most visible swelling and bruising diminish within 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Activity restrictions: Avoid bending over or heavy lifting for 14 days after surgery.
  • Final results: Tissues fully settle and numbness typically resolves within 3 to 6 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Forehead implants often heal faster than lower facial implants because they face less muscle interference. Data from leading Istanbul centers like Memorial Şişli Hospital shows patients benefit most from a 10-day stay. This allows surgeons to monitor the surgical site before any long-haul cabin pressure changes.

Patient Consensus: Many patients suggest packing a neck pillow for the flight home to prevent the head from tilting. They also report that 80% of visible swelling disappears by the third week after the procedure.

How do I choose the best clinic for the procedure?

Choosing the best clinic for forehead augmentation in Turkey requires prioritizing surgeons with craniofacial expertise and facilities using 3D custom implant planning. Verify that the hospital holds Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation to ensure the highest safety standards for surgical procedures performed under general anesthesia.

  • Surgeon specialization: Select doctors with specific craniofacial or maxillofacial training like Dr. Burak Özkan.
  • Technology standards: Ensure the clinic uses computer-aided design (CAD) for precision-fit custom silicone implants.
  • Hospital accreditation: Prioritize JCI-accredited centers like Memorial Şişli Hospital for superior surgical safety.
  • Experience volume: Look for surgeons with documented portfolios of 20 or more forehead cases.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a major quality gap between boutique aesthetic clinics and large multidisciplinary networks. While smaller clinics may offer lower prices, major centers like Memorial or Medipol provide integrated 3-Tesla MRI and 512-slice CT diagnostics. These technologies are vital for the 3D planning required for natural-looking forehead implants.

Patient Consensus: Experienced patients emphasize that a surgeon's specific portfolio is more important than clinic fame. They strongly recommend insisting on a 3D simulation and a direct video consultation before booking any travel.

How do I choose a qualified surgeon in Turkey for forehead augmentation?

Choosing a qualified surgeon in Turkey for forehead augmentation requires verifying EBOPRAS or Turkish Board certifications and craniofacial surgery experience. Qualified specialists typically practise at JCI-accredited hospitals in Istanbul or Antalya. These surgeons use custom implants or bone cement to reshape the forehead permanently.

  • Board certification: Verify TPRECD or EBOPRAS credentials to confirm surgeon competence and safety.
  • Specialised experience: Select surgeons with craniofacial or maxillofacial training like Dr Burak Özkan.
  • Clinical track record: Look for high-volume surgeons such as Dr Hasbi Mert Meral.
  • Hospital accreditation: Prioritise JCI-accredited facilities like Memorial Şişli for international quality standards.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many surgeons perform general facial work. However, forehead implants require specific maxillofacial expertise. Data shows that top-tier Turkish surgeons often hold international fellowships in plastic surgery hubs. Specialists at Medipol or Liv Hospital are well equipped to handle complex structural bone changes.

Will there be visible scars following a forehead implant procedure in Turkey?

Forehead implant procedures in Turkey involve initial scars that usually fade or remain hidden. Professional surgeons use discreet incision sites and careful closure techniques. This helps surgical marks become less visible once healing is complete after 6 to 12 months.

  • Incision placement: Surgeons hide marks within the scalp or behind the natural hairline.
  • Endoscopic techniques: Minimally invasive approaches use tiny incisions that significantly reduce the scarred area.
  • Refined closure: Specialists use meticulous suturing to promote flat, thin, and pale scar tissue.
  • Experience levels: Surgeons such as Dr Hasbi Mert Meral have performed 2,000+ successful aesthetic surgeries.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish specialists often publish research on novel scalp flap elevation. Dr Burak Özkan at Medipol Acibadem District Hospital has studied balloon trocar devices. These devices create space for implants. This technology allows for smaller incisions, which helps patients with lower hair density.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report that scalp incisions are easy to hide even with shorter hair. Healed scars are generally described as fine, flat lines that blend into the skin.

Are forehead implants performed in Turkey considered permanent?

Forehead implants in Turkey are permanent surgical solutions designed to last a lifetime. Surgeons use durable materials like silicone or medpor that integrate with facial structures. These procedures offer a long-term alternative to temporary dermal fillers. However, implants remain reversible through secondary surgery if required.

  • Permanent materials: High-quality implants are made of medical-grade silicone or porous polyethylene.
  • Expert certification: Surgeons like Dr Burak Özkan hold European Board (FEBOPRAS) credentials.
  • Clinical standards: Major centres like Memorial Şişli Hospital maintain JCI and ISO accreditations.
  • Surgical approach: Implants provide defined contouring that does not degrade like fat grafting.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While the implants are permanent, the A$4,400 to A$8,300 price range reflects the choice of implants. This includes pre-made and custom 3D-printed options. Patients seeing surgeons with 2,000+ operations, such as Dr Hasbi Meral, typically achieve better long-term symmetry. This reduces the need for future revisions.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey find implants provide a reliable, long-term change. Many suggest confirming the clinic revision policy before travelling. This helps to ensure any aesthetic adjustments are covered after returning to Australia.

Is the forehead augmentation procedure performed in Turkey painful?

Forehead augmentation in Turkey is not painful during surgery. Specialists perform it under general anaesthesia or conscious sedation. Patients commonly feel manageable tightness, swelling, and pressure during the first week. Sharp pain is rare. Pain medication is provided for comfort.

  • Anaesthesia protocol: General anaesthesia keeps patients unconscious and pain-free throughout the procedure.
  • Post-op sensations: Expect tightness or headache-like pressure rather than sharp pain during early healing.
  • Pain management: Surgeons prescribe oral medications to control discomfort during the first 3–7 days.
  • Swelling care: Headaches and bruising around the eyes are normal and peak within 72 hours.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic packages start from $3,200, choosing a JCI-accredited facility provides advantages. Memorial Şişli Hospital, for example, has 13 specialised operating theatres. This environment is better equipped for complex craniofacial cases than smaller boutique clinics. Verified surgeons in these high-volume centres often have experience with 2,000+ complex facial surgeries.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report that early swelling can look dramatic. However, it feels more like heavy pressure than intense pain. Most find the recovery manageable and value clear post-operative instructions regarding icing and sleeping positions.

How long does the forehead augmentation procedure take in Turkey?

Forehead augmentation in Turkey typically takes 1 to 4 hours. The duration depends on the chosen technique. Surgical implant placement or frontoplasty usually requires 2 to 3 hours. Non-surgical options like fat grafting or dermal fillers are much faster. These are often completed within 30 to 60 minutes.

  • Surgical duration: Complex contouring or bony reconstruction typically takes about 3 hours in theatre.
  • Non-surgical options: Fat transfer or fillers at clinics like Liv Hospital Ulus take 1 hour.
  • Hospital stay: Most surgical patients stay 1 night for observation before being discharged.
  • Recovery timeline: Stitches are usually removed on day 5. Travel is safe by day 6.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many choose surgical implants for permanent results. However, Bookimed data shows a trend towards fat grafting. Surgeons like Dr. Hasbi Mert Meral perform this in under 60 minutes. It avoids the 3-hour theatre time of standard implants by using the patient's own tissue.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey find the 1-night hospital stay and 4-day work return manageable. Many appreciate that follow-up visits for stitch removal align with a 7-day trip.

What is the typical recovery time for forehead augmentation in Turkey?

Recovery after forehead augmentation in Turkey usually takes 1 to 2 weeks for patients to return to daily activities. Full healing and resolution of swelling typically require 6 weeks. Specialists recommend staying in the country for 7 to 10 days for follow-up and stitch removal.

  • Clinical stay: Patients usually require a 1-day hospital stay for initial monitoring and pain management.
  • Initial window: Swelling and bruising are normal during days 1 to 3; head elevation is mandatory.
  • Stitch removal: Surgeons typically remove surgical staples or stitches between days 7 and 10.
  • Physical activity: Light walking is encouraged early, but patients must avoid strenuous exercise for 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics such as Memorial Şişli Hospital and Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital often hold JCI accreditation. This accreditation reflects international recovery protocols. Patients find that choosing surgeons with EBOPRAS or FEBOPRAS certification, like Dr Burak Özkan, meets strict European safety standards.

Patient Consensus: Expect functional recovery within 2 weeks, though cosmetic refinement takes months. Patients suggest staying in Turkey for at least 10 days for more comfort during the flight home.
