How Much Does Blepharoplasty (Eyelid correction) Cost in Mexico City?

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid correction) in Mexico City typically costs from $2,400 to $4,900 depending on the surgical scope and technique used. Patients save around 62% compared to the US, where this procedure costs $5,500 on average. Most quotes include surgeon fees, clinical facility costs, local anesthesia, and initial post-operative follow-up visits.

  • Upper eyelid surgery: $1,900 to $3,400 to correct drooping or heavy lids.
  • Upper and lower eyelid surgery: $2,900 to $5,100 for full rejuvenation.
  • Double eyelid operation: $2,100 to $3,600 for creating a defined supratarsal fold.
  • Fox eye lift: $2,600 to $5,200 to achieve a lateral upward pull.
  • Anesthesia: Choosing general anesthesia typically adds 15-25% to the base surgical fee.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Mexico City acts as the country's primary hub for highly specialized craniofacial and reconstructive expertise. Clinics here maintain higher concentrations of AMCPER and ISAPS certified surgeons than regional border cities. For example, Dr. Jose Cortes at the Jose Cortes Institute is a recognized pioneer in advanced facial techniques. Paying a slight premium in Mexico City often secures surgeons with extensive academic backgrounds from institutions like UNAM.

Data verified by Bookimed as of August 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 431 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

If a friend asked me about this clinic for eyelid surgery, my answer would be an absolute no. I chose the traditional incision method for both my upper and lower lids, and the process has been concerning. My biggest challenge is dealing with dry eyes constantly, which is a persistent discomfort throughout the day. The incision lines are still quite red, but the aesthetic result is the most upsetting part. When I smile, you can clearly see how one side is different from the other. The lack of care from the surgeon and staff was palpable. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.
The doctor did not need with me before the surgery to ask anything that I wanted. They did not do a good job on the surgery. I would not go back

My experience has been very bad with Dr. Ayala… He only spoke with me for about 10 minutes before my surgery and afterwards was very reluctant to answer any questions when I said I was not happy with the outcome of my neck and ears. He said I could come back in a couple of months to have it fixed. When I came back. I decided to do liposuction on my abdominal area at the same time again the same thing no follow up as far as what I should be doing or wearing or anything… Again, one of my ears was not corrected and looked actually worse than before. When I came back to get my stitches out I pointed that out and he said that was normal and I argued saying that my other ear came out fine and this year looked bad. He said he couldn’t do anything else except wait for another couple of months and have me come back again. At this point, I showed him my liposuction, which looked bad as well with a lot of fibrosis happening… He gave no recommendation except to have ultrasound treatment done. I went online and discovered I should be wearing compression garments as well as getting massage for lymphatic fluid, which was building up. Once I went to the masseuse, she informed me of all the things I needed to be doing, but this is also cost me an extra thousand dollars. The whole experience was very disappointing and now I need to go to another surgeon to get one of my ears fixed hopefully for the last time But this all started Jan 3 and we are now into May and I’m still not out of the woods! I actually liked the personalities of everybody that I worked with, but I cannot in good conscience. Recommend them to anyone else because I know they will be very disappointed!

All the staff and doctors were skilled, helpful, and very kind; my experience has been very good
All the staff and doctors were skilled, helpful, and very kind; my experience has been very good. My main concern was finding the right surgeon, and I'm happy with my choice for a deep plane facelift. The procedure addressed my full face and neck, and so far, my recovery is progressing about as expected. The clinic has been supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide and being easy to reach. Just note that my medications were an additional expense of $4000 pesos. My best advice: check reviews.

My experience with the surgeon, staff, and clinic has been very positive
If a friend was considering this, I'd tell them my experience with the surgeon, staff, and clinic has been very positive. At this point in my recovery, everything is feeling about as expected. The clinic team has stayed in touch, and I really appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I initially paid. That was a relief. My main piece of advice would be to prepare well for your consultation. I would suggest asking for more time with the doctor before surgery and to bring pictures of what you’d like done specifically to make sure you're aligned.
I was assisted from beginning to end! Great price with a great and safe experience.

This doctor is AWESOME
My biggest concern going into this was the recovery, especially after combining all four procedures. And it is tough. The diastasis recti repair is still very tender, and my biggest mobility challenge is just getting out of bed. It’s a slow process. That said, I can already see an amazing difference in my waist, and my entire torso, which makes the discomfort feel purposeful. This doctor is AWESOME. The support from the surgeon and the entire team was excellent. My most practical advice for other moms is that consistent help is essential for childcare. You will not be able to manage it alone.
This doctor is EXCELLENT. He’s certified, he’s up to date on all treatments. He is judicious and skilled at not just the Sufi al techniques but the aesthetics of the craft. His personality is calm and kind and his staff is supportive. I have had two procedures with him over these past three months and plan to make him ‘my doctor.’ Love this clinic!
Honestly, not really anything except for maybe a clearer structure of post-op recovery therapies and a liaison service or someone to help schedule them efficiently.

Even with initial swelling, the contouring from my full abdominoplasty and liposuction on my flanks is already so much better than expected
The thing that surprised me most was seeing my new waistline so early in the healing process. Even with initial swelling, the contouring from my full abdominoplasty and liposuction on my flanks is already so much better than expected. Recovery has its challenges. For me, the hardest part is that the drains are annoying, but I know that's temporary and part of the journey. My new belly button is healing nicely, which was a relief. The entire team at the clinic was excellent, from the surgeon to the nursing staff. It’s been a solid process so far.
I had a great experience with Dr. Marroquin and staff.
I was not given correct information about the required duration of my stay after surgery. I was also told I needed to lose a significant amount of weight after I booked the surgery and paid the deposit. I had already arranged my flights and hotel and had to reschedule because there was no possible way to lose that amount of weight in the original time frame.

The surgeon and staff were supportive throughout
My main concern going into this was how difficult the recovery would be, and it is definitely a process. The surgeon and staff were supportive throughout. For my extended tummy tuck, they created a new position for my belly button, and my abdomen feels very tight now, which is a good sign. While my stomach is already looking flatter, it's still swollen. The biggest challenge by far is just standing up straight. My advice is to make sure your home is prepared for you to heal and recover in comfort. It really helps. Also, measure yourself before purchasing any faja or compression gear, as the sizes differ so much across different sites.
My coordinator, Carlo, was amazing. He was prompt with answers to any questions. Surgeon, Dr Ayala was very personable and friendly. Staff at clinic was nurturing.
Maybe some post recovery snacks would have been nice.

I'm relieved to say my incisions are already well-hidden behind my ears
My biggest worry beforehand was about scarring and the recovery process. I'm relieved to say my incisions are already well-hidden behind my ears. The surgeon performed a deep plane lift, and the result so far is a jawline with noticeable new definition. My neck feels comfortably snug, not painfully tight. The hardest part of recovery has been sleeping elevated, which is to be expected but still challenging. Overall, the process with the clinic and staff was very straightforward. My one tip for others would be to prepare your kitchen in advance: get soft foods and melons, fresh fruits or steam-able vegetables like carrots. You'll want to take small bites at first.
The surgery had to be delayed because I was not feeling well right after arriving at my hotel. I came from outside Mexico for the procedure. We were able to do it a week later, and I stayed extra days for the reschedule. The staff is great and very personable. On the phone I spoke to and messaged the Doctor's personal assistant, and he speaks and writes great English. On the day of surgery, I stayed overnight following the procedure, and my night nurse had her phone set up so we could speak, translating questions, answers, and instructions back and forth. The dinner was beverages, yogurt, freshly made grilled chicken with steamed vegetables, the morning breakfast was eggs, yogurt with melon for breakfast. I stayed in a private room. I saw Dr. Aguilera right after I was prepped for surgery by the anesthesiologist and two nurses, who introduced themselves. Dr. Aguilera met me in the operating room, before I was given the final dose of sleeping medication, and was the first person I saw, still in the operating room, when emerging from anesthesia. The following day, the doctor checked my sutures and gave me some advice about what to do and not to do, the following day. He was satisfied with my recovery, so my head and neck were wrapped up for the Uber ride back to my hotel apartment. We had a stove, microwave, dishes and a full refrigerator in the room where we were staying. This is so convenient for gel packs, fresh foods and juices. I felt extremely comfortable traveling home on a three-hour flight, 10 days after the operation. Based on my experience, Plan fourteen days, giving yourselves an opportunity to settle in will make for a much more gratifying experience. Mexico City is quite easy to travel around, and since it is high altitude, the best way to adjust is to see the city or neighborhood you live in as you prepare for your procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Aguilera; I am healing well, and I am happy with the results.
The internet reception is not good on the sidewalk in front of the building, probably due to the other tall buildings. Just make sure you have made any arrangements for pick-up in the office where the wi-fi is.

I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Hospital fine, clean decent staff Got gynecomastia surgery, emintha into healing moderately okay results, had maybe grade one maybe grade 2 gyno, got glands removed as I was very lean, Surgeon made long incisions, along my chest, have two ling 3 Inch scars on either side of my nipples on both side of my chest Fland wasn't fully removed on my left side so have recurring gyno, Need steriod injection to help with scaring, surgeon isn't competent enough to go through the nipples to leave no scarring, Pictures they send of before and after are a lie, Probably look worse than before cant take my top off after, The response to this was get laser treatment or steriod injections Sub par save your money go somewhere else Probably the same for most procedures they do

Their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria
First off, I used Aura Wellness Center, instead of Alice Beauty Clinic. And, their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria. Sara was the best English speaker there and helped me with everything. Maria was kind, warm, and also a great English speaker. They made it less lonely since I had this journey alone. Through Bookimed, I was assisted by Confidence, she was super thoughtful and checked up on me. She made sure I had connections with my medical coordinator and doctor. My coordinator was named Carlos. He was kind, answering all my questions and even texted me after my surgery numerous time to ensure I was recovering and satisfied with my results. My doctor was Dr. Ayala. I can't say much about him since he was in and out of the surgery room. I met him briefly. And, I'm unsure of my results as I am only one month post-op.
The staff at the clinic was accommodating. The coordinator from Bookimed and from the doctor ensured my questions were answered.
Dr. Ayala's brevity and lack of check up after the surgery. I didn't meet him more than 15 (when I was conscious since I was under anesthesia when he operated on me).

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

FAQ about treatment in Mexico

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the best clinics for blepharoplasty in Mexico City?

Top clinics for blepharoplasty in Mexico City include José Cortés Institute, Dr. Alexandro Aguilera - Plastic Surgery, and Lucio Santos Plastic Surgery. All have board-certified specialists. They are accredited by the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery (CMCPER) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

  • Specialized expertise: Dr. Alexandro Aguilera has performed over 3,000 successful procedures for international patients.
  • Premium locations: Most top-rated clinics operate in Polanco or within Hospital Español facilities.
  • Patient volume: High-performing centers like José Cortés Institute serve over 2,500 patients annually.
  • Cost efficiency: Prices start at _op_26_city_423$1,100. That's about 62% savings compared to US averages.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics across the city offer blepharoplasty. What sets the top ones apart is a secondary specialization. Surgeons like Dr. Alexandro Aguilera and Dr. Lucio Santos also specialize in peripheral nerve and facial paralysis surgery. This extra training suggests a deeper understanding of delicate facial anatomy, compared to general aesthetic practitioners.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend asking for before-and-after photos specific to the procedure. Survivors of the surgery recommend confirming that the lead surgeon performs the operation. They should not just supervise staff.

Are the surgeons qualified for blepharoplasty in Mexico City?

Surgeons in Mexico City are highly qualified for blepharoplasty. They often hold board certifications from the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery (CMCPER). Typically, these specialists have extensive training from institutions like UNAM. They also maintain active memberships in international bodies such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

  • Board certification: Top surgeons maintain mandatory CMCPER certification, which requires renewal every 5 years.
  • Specialized expertise: Practitioners like Dr. Alexandro Aguilera have performed over 3,000 successful procedures.
  • Academic background: Doctors often hold advanced degrees from UNAM or have completed fellowships abroad.
  • International affiliations: Membership in ISAPS or ASPS means surgeons follow globally recognized safety protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Patients often search for the lowest price. But Mexico City's top surgeons typically work in high-end facilities like Hospital Español. Doctors like Dr. Lucio Santos Moyron prioritize hospital-grade safety over small clinics. This reduces secondary infection risks and ensures immediate access to emergency support if needed.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize verifying the official certification from the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery. This means not just trusting social media. They also recommend choosing surgeons who provide clear information and direct communication during recovery.

What is the recovery time for blepharoplasty in Mexico City?

Most patients in Mexico City return to daily routines 7 to 10 days after blepharoplasty. Stitches usually come out by day 8, but full cosmetic settling takes 3 to 6 weeks. Most swelling and bruising clears within the first 14 days.

  • Initial healing: Stitches are typically removed between day 6 and day 8.
  • Social readiness: Most patients feel comfortable going out in public after 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Work resumption: Desk work can resume in 7 days; physical jobs need 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Final results: Complete surgical maturation usually takes 3 months or longer.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Surgeons like Dr. Alexandro Aguilera have performed over 3,000 procedures, so patient volume really matters here. High-volume clinics often use ultrasonic tools, which can shorten bruising time compared to traditional methods.

Patient Consensus: Patients often find the pain is surprisingly mild and they look worse than they feel. They recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before judging results and using sunglasses to manage early bruising.

What does the price include for blepharoplasty in Mexico City?

Blepharoplasty in Mexico City costs between _op_26_city_423$1,100 and _op_26_city_423$3,100. The price covers the surgeon fee, anesthesia, and operating room use. Packages often include pre-operative consultations with board-certified surgeons and surgical assistants. They also include post-operative follow-up visits to make sure you heal properly.

  • Surgeon fees: These cover the services of specialists certified by CMCPER or ISAPS.
  • Medical facility: This provides private hospital operating rooms and nursing staff.
  • Anesthesia services: This covers local or general anesthesia during the procedure.
  • International support: Bilingual staff can assist with airport pickups at specialized clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While base prices average _op_26_city_423$2,100, premium clinics like Dr. Christian Morales offer high-value additions. These often bundle free airport pickups, hotel booking assistance, and medical travel insurance. Choose centers with high patient volumes, like José Cortés Institute. You’ll then have access to surgeons who have performed thousands of procedures. Their experience helps avoid extra costs from corrective surgeries later.

Patient Consensus: Patients value fast response times but emphasize getting a written quote. They recommend confirming if medication and follow-up supplies are included. This helps avoid unexpected bills during recovery.
