What's the cost for Reproductology procedures in Turkey?

Reproductology in Turkey typically costs from $1,800 to $6,400. Final expenses depend on the specific treatment protocol, medication needs, and additional laboratory techniques like genetic testing. Patients often find 60-75% savings compared to the United States when choosing Turkish fertility clinics.

Typical Reproductology Costs in Turkey

  • Consultation with an IVF specialist: $100 – $100
  • Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD): $400 – $3,800
  • Semen analysis: $100 – $100
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): $3,000 – $5,000
  • Artificial insemination: $800 – $1,100
  • Testicular sperm extraction (TESE): $1,300 – $2,000
  • Embryo transfer: $500 – $1,400
  • PRP/PRGF ovarian rejuvenation: $2,200 – $3,400
  • Egg cryopreservation annual maintenance: $300 – $500
  • IVF with Gender Selection: $6,500 – $10,500

Most specialized fertility centers are located in Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya. Consult with a specialist to get accurate pricing for your specific case.

hopefully we will succeed very much believe in Dr Semre 🙏
To be honest, we found the clinic by searching for the top 10 hospitals in Turkey and chose Memorial, the call centre was very adequate, we were met at the airport by a special clinic transfer car, which was very convenient for us! Then we had a consultation with doctor Semre Kahraman, she explained us the next steps of our operation (IVF) in a very clear language. We are planning to have the operation at the end of November hopefully we will succeed very much believe in Dr Semre 🙏, I forgot to mention the consultation was free which surprised me very pleasantly 😳 as last year I was in Medipole there I paid 220$ for the consultation.
I liked Dr Semre the best.

She was on call 24/7, always answered in detail, politely and with great patience
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my coordinating doctor Yaroslava from the platform. She was on call 24/7, always answered in detail, politely and with great patience. Yaroslava even enquired about my impressions after my consultation with the doctor, which was very pleasant. Her responsiveness and support helped me to make an important decision. As for the treatment and the doctor, it is too early to give a final assessment, as we are just starting to work. But I can already say that I chose Memorial Ataşehir Clinic and I was satisfied with the staff, the doctor, the interpreter and the clinic itself. I will definitely write a full review of the results later.
A reverent approach of the doctor, no rush, polite, smiling. And my doctor coordinator Yaroslava.

May the peace and mercy of God be with you. As a great program, the people who use it are great. The answer is excellent, but the last time was through MC Hospital Türkiye. The translator is a man named Issa. It is very weak in translation and does not translate. Why is this from the words of the doctor? Because the doctor spoke for a long time, and the translation was short, so there was a lot of things. It does not translate for me, and it did not benefit me at all, and the examination didn't help, doctor

Yes, I liked it overall. But I didn’t like how translators work - there are not enough Russian-speaking translators, you have to wait for them all the time, once I waited 1.5 hours, once without an interpreter I mixed up the medication, I didn’t take the medicine correctly, because I didn’t understand correctly, even if the translator comes to you, will be in a hurry, because they have a lot of work. The clinic in the Bahcelievler district is large, modern, all tests, medicines can be bought on the spot, the staff is polite. I can’t say the result of infertility treatment yet, since I have only gone halfway through IVF, but I hope for a successful result.

Was offered an appointment and was told it would be online and an interpreter would be provided but there was no interpreter. I was told to pay a deposit but then after the appointment which was suppose to last an hour but lasted 20 minutes (and was started late) was concluded the hospital refused to refund me the deposit when I decided not to proceed! Luckily my credit card was able to get the money back for me.
Nothing
Lack of professionalism, lack of empathy and understanding. Changing the times of my appointment and not having an interpreter available despite promising to have an interpreter.

"The doctor was very good, answered all the questions, explained everything
The doctor was very good, answered all the questions, explained everything. The only thing I didn’t like was the wait. At the reception no one spoke English or Russian, I had to wait for an interpreter from another part of the clinic. We were hungry and nervous while waiting, but overall the reception and consultation went well.

I am very happy and satisfied with Bookimed service
My experience in the hospital was not the best one. Please don't get me wrong, the hospital is well maintained and organized. The only problem I had was the visa for my husband. They have assigned interpreter for me in Bulgarian (I have not requested, because my husband doesn't speak my language, so we preferred English communication), however the lady took more than two weeks to replay my email and send the invitation letter. The visa was not ready on time. My treatment started and I had to cancel because my husband was not able to come. We have lost a lot of money and of course the delay of our dream. No one even offer an apology to me.. I am very happy and satisfied with Bookimed service. Everyone I talk to is very polite, attentive and try to fulfil all the request and solve the problem. Thank you so much. I will be happy to work with you again.

FAQ about Reproductology in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How safe are IVF and other fertility treatments performed in Turkish clinics?

Fertility treatments in Turkey are highly safe due to strict Ministry of Health oversight and international accreditations. Leading clinics like Memorial Şişli Hospital and Anadolu Medical Center hold JCI accreditation. These facilities report complications like severe OHSS in fewer than 0.2% of cycles.

  • Regular inspections: The Ministry of Health conducts mandatory clinic audits every 6 months.
  • Expert credentials: Specialists like Dr. Nilgun Turhan have 30+ years of reproductive experience.
  • Success rates: Top clinical teams report IVF success rates reaching up to 65%.
  • Embryo regulations: National laws limit embryo transfers to minimize risks from multiple pregnancies.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics with high international patient volumes, like Memorial Şişli Hospital which serves 167 countries, often provide free initial consultations. Our data shows these facilities maintain higher safety standards by integrating full genetic screening into standard IVF protocols, which patients from the UK and US find superior to their local clinics.

Patient Consensus: Patients feel safer than at home due to modern facilities and thorough genetic testing. They emphasize choosing JCI-accredited centers to avoid risks like ovarian hyperstimulation and recommend staying 2 weeks for proper monitoring.

Are egg-donor and sperm-donor programs legal for foreign couples in Turkey?

Egg and sperm donation programs are strictly illegal in Turkey for all patients, including foreigners. Turkish law requires couples to be legally married and use only their own genetic material. Assisted reproduction is prohibited for single women, same-sex couples, and those requiring third-party donors.

  • Legal requirement: Couples must present a valid marriage certificate to start any IVF treatment.
  • Genetic lineage: Using donor eggs, sperm, or embryos is a criminal offense under Turkish law.
  • Age considerations: Clinics often do not treat women over 45 due to donor egg bans.
  • Permitted services: Genetic testing like PGD is allowed only for screening specific medical conditions.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While donation is prohibited, Turkish clinics like Memorial Şişli Hospital and Anadolu Medical Center excel in advanced autologous treatments. Our data shows these centers achieve high success rates by focusing on ovarian rejuvenation and complex infertility diagnostics for married couples using their own cells.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that while the laws are strict, the quality of care for standard IVF is exceptional. Many emphasize that the requirement for a marriage certificate is absolute and checked multiple times during the process.

What pre-treatments tests can be done remotely and when must I arrive in Turkey?

Patients can remotely complete blood tests for hormone profiles, including AMH, FSH, and LH, plus infectious disease screenings. Digital copies of recent pelvic ultrasounds are also typically accepted. Most clinics require you to arrive in Turkey 1–2 days before starting ovarian stimulation for final checks.

  • Remote hormone tests: FSH, LH, Estradiol, and Prolactin are accepted if from the last 3–6 months.
  • Infectious disease screening: Results for HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C can be sent digitally.
  • On-site male diagnostics: Semen analysis must be performed at the clinic to ensure sample freshness.
  • Arrival timing: Plan to arrive 2 days before stimulation or 1 day before egg collection.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics with high international volumes, like Memorial Şişli Hospital which serves patients from 167 countries, often provide free initial virtual consultations. Our data shows these sessions are vital for validating your local test results. This step can prevent the need to repeat expensive diagnostics like Hysteroscopy once you arrive in Istanbul.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that having tests translated into English or Turkish beforehand saves significant time. They also emphasize coordinating the male partner's schedule closely, as sperm samples must be provided fresh at the clinic.

How soon after IVF can I fly home, and are there medical restrictions for travel?

Most medical experts allow flying 1 to 2 days after an IVF embryo transfer. Turkish clinics often suggest waiting 10 to 14 days before long-haul travel. This timeframe ensures the embryo settles and helps manage physical stress. There is no evidence that cabin pressure impacts implantation success.

  • Travel timing: Wait 24 to 48 hours after transfer for short flights.
  • Post-retrieval wait: Delay flying for 24+ hours to allow anesthesia to wear off.
  • Long-haul caution: Many doctors advise 10 to 14 days before flying over 6 hours.
  • DVT prevention: Use compression socks and walk every 2 hours to prevent clots.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from major Istanbul centers like Memorial Şişli Hospital shows a 65% IVF success rate. High-volume clinics often provide formal medical clearance letters for airlines 12 days post-transfer. This documentation is vital for patients carrying injectable medications through international security checkpoints.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that while short flights are manageable quickly, the abdominal bloating after egg retrieval makes sitting for long periods very uncomfortable. They recommend booking a hotel near the clinic for at least 3 days to prioritize rest and minimize travel-related stress.

What qualifications do Turkish reproductive endocrinologists hold?

Turkish reproductive endocrinologists are medical doctors with 12–15 years of specialized training. They first complete a 6-year medical degree and a 4-to-5-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology. Experts then finish a 2-to-3-year subspecialty fellowship in reproductive medicine and infertility.

  • Mandatory certification: The Ministry of Health issues Assisted Reproduction Treatment Methods certificates to IVF leads.
  • Academic titles: Senior experts like Dr. Nilgun Turhan hold professorships from leading national universities.
  • International standards: Many specialists maintain active membership in the European Society of Human Reproduction (ESHRE).
  • Specialized skills: Qualifications often include certified training in laparoscopic surgery and robotic reproductive techniques.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that top-rated Turkish specialists, such as those at Anadolu Medical Center, often combine 20+ years of experience with international research. Dr. Tayfun Kutlu, for example, holds a specialized certificate in Assisted Reproduction and publishes in global journals. This high volume of academic work often correlates with clinics that maintain JCI accreditation and serve patients from over 160 countries.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that leading doctors explain complex IVF steps in clear language during consultations. They often emphasize the importance of verifying a specialist's success rates and international certifications before starting treatment.

Do IVF packages include medication, and can I bring my own prescriptions?

Most IVF packages in Turkey exclude the cost of medications. Specific dosages vary by patient, so clinics typically quote a base price for monitoring and procedures. Patients can often buy medications at local pharmacies to find lower prices for essential hormones and stimulants.

  • Standard exclusions: IVF in Turkey costs $3,000 to $5,000 excluding medications.
  • Medication budget: Patients should budget an extra 30–50% for stimulation and transfer drugs.
  • Prescription flexibility: You can use prescriptions at local Turkish pharmacies to access generic options.
  • Import risks: Bringing medications into Turkey is restricted by customs to a 30-day supply.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from JCI-accredited centers like Memorial Şişli Hospital and Anadolu Medical Center shows that while packages focus on procedures, local Turkish generics can save you up to 40% compared to clinic markups. Always ask for an itemized list of required drugs before your trip to compare local pharmacy prices in Istanbul.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that while buying meds locally is cheaper, some clinics prefer supplying their own for protocol control. Many suggest verifying if your specific clinic accepts foreign prescriptions before you travel to avoid unexpected fees.

Which cities offer the highest concentration of accredited IVF centres with English support?

Istanbul offers the highest concentration of JCI-accredited IVF centers with dedicated English-speaking international departments. It serves as the primary medical hub. Antalya and Ankara also provide accredited facilities with multilingual support. These cities combine globally recognized quality standards with professional translation services.

  • Clinic accreditation: Istanbul hosts numerous JCI-certified hubs like Memorial Şişli and Anadolu Medical Center.
  • Success rates: Top Istanbul facilities like Memorial Ataşehir report IVF success rates of 65%.
  • Specialized support: Major centers provide personal coordinators and interpreters for seamless English communication.
  • Location advantage: Antalya offers JCI-accredited care at Memorial Antalya, ideal for beachside recovery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Our data shows that while Istanbul has the most clinics, facilities like Anadolu Medical Center offer a unique advantage through their affiliation with Johns Hopkins Hospital. This connection often ensures that medical protocols and English-language documentation strictly follow American academic standards. Choosing these affiliated centers typically guarantees a higher level of clinical communication compared to independent local clinics.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that Istanbul is the best choice for maximum options. They emphasize that booking clinics with dedicated international desks makes the process much easier.
