How Much Does Radiation therapy for Brain Tumor Cost in Istanbul?

Radiation therapy for brain tumor in Istanbul typically costs from $6,400 to $11,800. Total investment depends on the specific technology used, tumor location, and the number of required sessions. In the US, similar procedures cost around $35,000 on average. Patients save around 82% compared to US rates. Standard pricing in Istanbul generally includes consultations with neuro-oncologists, MRI sessions, and specialized radiation therapy planning.

  • Technological premium: Advanced systems like CyberKnife or Gamma Knife generally add 30-50% to the base cost of traditional radiation.
  • Treatment fractions: The total price varies significantly based on whether the plan requires a single session or up to thirty sessions.
  • Facility accreditation: JCI-accredited centers in Istanbul typically charge 15-20% more than local clinics due to higher administrative and safety standards.
  • Multi-disciplinary care: Prices include collaborative reviews by radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, and medical physicists to ensure high-precision targeting.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul is Turkey's undisputed hub for oncological depth, housing hospitals with direct affiliations to US centers like Johns Hopkins. Clinicians here, such as Professor Banu Atalar at Anadolu Medical Center, hold international leadership roles in radiation oncology societies. This concentrated expertise means patients access high-precision MR-guided adaptive SRS at a fraction of the cost found in Western Europe or the US.

Data verified by Bookimed as of June 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 47 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

The Liv Hospital Clinic confused my diagnosis. Within two hours, I thought I had cancer.  I immediately wrote to them, the answer came in two and a half hours, as they had no time to double-check. During all this time, my family and I went crazy with horror. Now they wrote to me that the translators were wrong. But pituitary adenoma is spelled the same in all languages. A malignant formation of the parotid gland is a completely different diagnosis.

"Clinic definitely recommend
When they learned what was needed in the clinic, they didn’t even know where to run and whom to contact. Coordinators helped to select a clinic. They gave us a doctor. Everything went great, the doctor is a true professional.  Separately, I want to note the attitude to patients. We were met at the airport, brought to the clinic and there was already a translator waiting. Literally "by the hand" we were taken to the doctors, everyone translated. Then they provided a taxi to the hotel.   During the operation, the ward was provided for two people - for the patient and the attendant; both of them were included in the cost of the operation.   After surgery, the doctor held a consultation, making sure that you can fly back. And only then answered questions remotely that arose.  Clinic definitely recommend

Doctors seemed professional
Doctors seemed professional. Low quality translation from Turkish to Russian and vice versa. For some reason, after PET KT (perhaps a coincidence), upon returning home, it was sharply worse. We had to urgently operate, although Turkish oncologists did not see the need for an operation, but offered to wait a month.
