How Much Does Facelift Cost in Mexico City?

Facelift in Mexico City typically costs from $6,200 to $11,500 depending on the complexity and surgical technique used. Patients save around 59% compared to the US, where this procedure costs $17,900 on average. Most clinical offers in the city bundle surgeon fees, anesthesia, operating room charges, and initial follow-up consultations into the total price.

  • Deep plane facelift: $8,500 to $14,500 for advanced muscle and tissue repositioning.
  • Mini facelift: $4,100 to $6,500 for addressing early signs of aging.
  • Liquid facelift: $1,900 to $3,100, a non-surgical option using dermal fillers.
  • Facial fat transfer: $2,900 to $5,100, often used to restore natural volume.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Mexico City is a high-volume hub where surgeons often hold simultaneous board certifications from AMCPER and ASPS. This specialty concentration allows for complex procedures at better values than in the US. For instance, Dr. José Cortés at the José Cortés Institute integrates ultrasonic technologies. Dr. Alexandro Aguilera provides advanced microsurgery expertise, which is ideal for patients seeking precise facial nerve preservation.

All the staff and doctors were skilled, helpful, and very kind; my experience has been very good
All the staff and doctors were skilled, helpful, and very kind; my experience has been very good. My main concern was finding the right surgeon, and I'm happy with my choice for a deep plane facelift. The procedure addressed my full face and neck, and so far, my recovery is progressing about as expected. The clinic has been supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide and being easy to reach. Just note that my medications were an additional expense of $4000 pesos. My best advice: check reviews.
All the staff and doctors were skilled, helpful, knowledgeable, and very kind. My experience has been very good.

I am 3 months post op and I have zero regrets
The experience I had with Dr Marroquin far exceed my expectations. I am an American living in Miami, FL. I inquired with surgeons locally before deciding to travel abroad for my deep plane face and neck lift with blepharoplasty. After extensive research I found Dr Marroquin, I read through all the patient testimonials I could find and looked at all his before and after photos. I reached out to him via Bookimed. At first I thought I was being scammed, the people at Bookimed did not speak very good english, I could tell I was communicating with a non native english or spanish speaker. The communications came in at weird hours of the day. After a few back and forth, I said I would not proceed any further without speaking with someone from Dr Marroquins office. That same day someone claiming to be Dr Marroquin contacted me on Whatsapp. I thought for sure it was a scam, so at first I ignored him. In Miami you would have to be dying in order for the surgeon to speak with you directly. I told him I was feeling uneasy and he suggested we set up a video call for later that day, I thought there is no way its going to be him on the phone, and sure enough it was him! He took his personal time on a Sunday to call me. We spoke for almost an hour, and at the end of that call I was 100% sure this was my doctor. He is so down to earth and approachable, he made me feel so at ease. I let him know the next day I wanted to proceed with the surgery, from that point on I only communicated with him. He helped me to schedule the surgery, my preop appointments and made recommendations for recovery houses. In less than a month I arrived in Guadalajara, he met with me the next day and we discussed the surgery in length. At that point I decided to add a lip lift to the procedure. I passed all my preop and had my surgery on August 26th. Dr Marroquin was amazing the day of surgery, he spoke to me in english (which he speaks very well), he made sure I understood every step of the process. Everything went very well, I spent the next 10 days in Mexico recovering at a recovery house. I spoke with Dr Marroquin every day while I was there. I had zero complications and flew home after 10 days to continue my recovery at home. I am 3 months post op and I have zero regrets. I speak with Dr Marroquin every few weeks and keep him updated on my progress with photos. If you are considering this surgery, I 100% recommend having a consultation with Dr Marroquin, he is an amazing doctor and human being.
I liked how personal the service was, I really got to know my doctor and felt 100% at ease with him.
I wish I would have waited for the recovery house I wanted to use to have availability. They were booked up so I decided to use another one that was not as highly rated. It was not a bad experience, but it could have been better.

The surgeon was good but the coordinator Carlo made too many mistakes. 1. Didn’t book continuous days at hotel. 2. As a result, I was kicked out of room the day I was in surgery. . 2. Need more after care days to remove drainage. I was abruptly kicked out of TJ while I was still feeling weak. Needed more days in Tijuana. At least 2 more. Return to America and no one wanted to remove drainage tubes. 3. The day nurse talked bad about me to everyone. The night nurse , Paulina was perfect. I would never recommend surgery in Mexico. No need to go viral with this because all of USA know this. Mexican are much better at picking fruits!

Dr
Dr. Marraquin was amazing. He spent over an hour with me on my consultation before my surgery. Let me know absolutely everything that was going to happen. His years of training is quite obvious to anybody who is requesting his services. He answered every question I could possibly think of. Additionally, he was available through text messaging 24 hours a day. He’s response time was impressive. I was very pleased with the outcome of my facelift. I would refer him to any buddy I know.

my doctor, Dr
My doctor, Dr. M., was outstanding. He was accessible via text message, very experienced, and knowledgeable. I cannot comment on the results yet, as I am only 10 days post-op, but I will definitely return to update my review. So far, I recommend him to anyone considering surgery, 10 out of 10. I truly cannot praise his professionalism enough.
I liked how the doctor explained everything to me in details that I understood made sure I understood exactly what was happening as well as being realistic about how long it will take in the journey to get there. And just knowing that he and his staff were there for me at all times during my stay.
Overall, it was a very positive experience and I don’t think I have any one particular item that I did not like of course nobody likes having surgery done however they made it as comfortable as possible

I like the environment and how everything was set up. I think you should have more instructions on how to care for yourself. I think you should have a care package while you are there to take care of yourself, too.
The staff was nice

FAQ about treatment in Mexico

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to get a facelift in Mexico City?

Getting a facelift in Mexico City is safe when patients choose surgeons certified by the Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery (CMCPER). They should also choose JCI-accredited facilities. Specialists with international training use techniques like the deep plane facelift. This helps maintain high safety standards.

  • Surgeon credentials: Verify certification via the Mexican Council of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (CMCPER).
  • Facility standards: Choose accredited hospitals with intensive care units and emergency support.
  • Advanced techniques: Surgeons like Dr. Alexandro Aguilera specialize in deep plane facelifts for natural results.
  • High volume: The José Cortés Institute treats over 2,000 international patients annually with high success.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While patients may search for the lowest cost, safety in Mexico City correlates with surgical volume and facility location. Clinics like Lucio Santos Plastic Surgery operate within medical centers like Hospital Español. This gives immediate access to specialist care if needed. Choosing a clinic in Polanco or Roma gives easier access to high-standard post-operative recovery environments.

Patient Consensus: Patients stress that traveling with a companion is essential for post-operative monitoring and wound care. They advise ignoring unusually cheap deals. Instead, they recommend focusing on credential verification and staying in secure neighborhoods like Polanco.

How can I find a qualified surgeon in Mexico City?

To find a qualified surgeon in Mexico City, verify certification from the Mexican Council of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (CMCPER). Also check for membership in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Top specialists usually work at JCI-accredited hospitals like Hospital Español.

  • Board certification: Check credentials through CMCPER or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
  • Hospital affiliation: Look for surgeons practicing at major centers like Hospital Español or Médica Sur.
  • Specialized experience: Look for experts who have performed more than 2,000 procedures. This volume helps ensure technical proficiency.
  • International standards: Check membership in international organizations like ISAPS or the FILACP federation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: High patient volume often correlates with safety. Dr. Alexandro Aguilera and the José Cortés Institute handle over 2,000 patients annually. Choosing these high-volume centers gives you access to surgical teams experienced in complex techniques. They are skilled in procedures like deep plane facelifts. Surgeons in Mexico City also hold American Society of Plastic Surgeons certifications. This gives you US-standard oversight at local prices.

Patient Consensus: Patients value surgeons who are directly involved in their recovery. Patients appreciate the ease of communication with English-speaking staff. They also value the convenience of recovering in areas like Polanco.

How long should I stay in Mexico City for a facelift?

Patients should plan to stay in Mexico City for 10 to 14 days after a facelift. This gives surgeons enough time to check early healing and manage swelling. It also lets them safely remove sutures after 7 to 10 days, which helps avoid flight-related complications.

  • Arrival window: Arrive 2 days early for consultations and pre-operative blood tests.
  • Suture removal: Surgeons typically remove facial stitches between post-operative days 7 and 10.
  • Flight safety: Wait at least 10 days before flying to prevent deep vein thrombosis.
  • Clinical oversight: Extended stays let doctors like Dr. Jose Cortes monitor early recovery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic packages start from $6,200, but clinics like Cirplast Plastic Surgery offer dedicated recovery houses. These facilities provide continuous nursing care and specialized meals, which are vital if your procedure takes more than 3 hours. They often result in about 59% savings compared to average US costs of $17,900.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that swelling and facial stiffness make early travel very uncomfortable. Most recommend staying at least 14 days, especially when combining a facelift with neck or eyelid surgery.

What is included in the price for a facelift in Mexico City?

Facelift packages in Mexico City typically cover surgeon fees, general anesthesia, and the operating room. They also include an overnight hospital stay. Techniques like deep plane facelifts and neck lifts are common. Full packages often include pre-operative screenings, medication, and follow-up care from board-certified experts.

  • Core inclusions: Covers surgeon fees, anesthesia, surgical materials, and a private operating suite.
  • Hospitalization: Standard packages usually include a 1-night stay for monitoring and safety.
  • Pre-op clearance: Some centers bundle cardiology consults, EKGs, and blood work into prices.
  • Post-op support: Local clinics often provide professional nurse visits and required compression garments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Base prices range from $6,200 to $11,500. However, clinics like José Cortés Institute offer the highest value. They see over 2,000 patients a year despite having fewer beds. Such high turnover usually means efficient outpatient protocols. You save by staying in specialized recovery hotels instead of hospital rates.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize getting an itemized list. This confirms whether items like lymphatic massages or local transportation are covered. Most suggest budgeting an extra $500 for recovery house stays. This is meant for stays not specifically listed.

Will the doctors in Mexico City speak English during my facelift?

Most plastic surgeons in Mexico City are fluent in English and accustomed to international patients. Specialists often train in the US or Europe. Clinics often provide bilingual staff and English documentation. This makes sure communication is clear from surgery through aftercare.

  • Surgeon proficiency: Experts who trained abroad often speak fluent or near-perfect English.
  • Support staff: Clinics like Kaloni and Dr. Christian Morales provide English-speaking coordinators and assistants.
  • Translation services: Centers like Cirplast offer dedicated interpreter services for non-Spanish speaking patients.
  • Hospital standards: Private facilities like Hospital Español typically employ bilingual staff in their departments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Language proficiency often signals a clinic's focus on international standards. High-volume clinics focus on bilingual staff. The José Cortés Institute serves 2,500 patients annually. It hires staff to handle its global clientele. Always ask if the night-shift nurses also speak English. Their support is vital during the first 24 hours of recovery.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that specialists in upscale areas like Polanco usually speak excellent English. They recommend a WhatsApp or Zoom consultation. This way, you can check the surgeon's language fluency yourself before booking.
