After the procedure, the medical team provides continuous follow-up care. This aftercare focuses on monitoring the healing process and planning for long-term results. The clinic aims for outcomes that look refreshed rather than "operated on," with a focus on appropriate recovery times.

It’s the Dr. had not done. All the testing they did, I would not have found out that. I had something going on in my leg. That has to be checked when I go home before I can have surgery. I was very grateful that the surgeon did not go ahead with the surgery. That gave me a lot of face in your hospital.

My biggest surprise is the lack of results. Although I am only just beginning my recovery, my skin is already much looser than I expected after such a procedure. The hardest part so far has been the visibility of the bruises, which were very extensive. I have to admit: the staff were decent. However, communication with the surgeon was virtually non-existent, to the extent that I’m not even sure which technique was used. The clinic’s overall organisation was also poor. I would absolutely not recommend this clinic.

the surgeon is very skilled and his stitches are wonderful
The whole process from initial consult to surgery and follow up after care were good. I was very happy the care received from the admin staff and the surgical team. The nurses were so gentle. the surgeon is very skilled and his stitches are wonderful. I would be so happy to undergo further procedures at this clinic. The hotel was also great.
The outcome was great and my surgeries were separated into two - and the bleph was done under local for increased safety and to reduce time under general anesthetic - which is good.
Everything was good no negative feedback

FAQ about treatment in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How long do I need to stay in Bangkok after a facelift?

After a facelift, most patients need to stay in Bangkok for 10 to 14 days. This allows for safe healing. The time covers essential suture removal and post-operative checks by board-certified surgeons. It also lowers the risk of complications like deep vein thrombosis on long-haul flights.

  • Suture removal: Surgeons usually remove facial stitches between day 7 and day 14 after surgery.
  • Hospital stay: Most clinical protocols include 0 to 1 night of in-hospital monitoring.
  • Flight safety: Medical experts recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before boarding international flights.
  • Visual recovery: Initial bruising goes away quickly, but looking normal usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that 14 days is the strategic sweet spot. While some clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital offer 2-day hotel stays, others like ID Clinic Bangkok include 7 hotel nights. Booking at least 10 days means you won’t miss the critical final check-up. At this check-up, surgeons confirm total wound closure before you depart.

Patient Consensus: Patients often stress that the first 2 weeks are for rest, not sightseeing. Patients often suggest bringing a helper. Daily tasks and hair washing are difficult during initial recovery.

Do I need a full facelift or a mini facelift?

The choice between a mini or full facelift depends on neck laxity and aging depth. Mini facelifts treat mild jowling with shorter scars. Full facelifts, on the other hand, address significant sagging in the midface and neck. Board-certified surgeons in Bangkok often recommend deep plane techniques for complete, natural results.

  • Target areas: Mini lifts focus on the jawline; full lifts include the midface and neck.
  • Recovery time: Patients typically return to social activities within 7 to 14 days after surgery.
  • Procedure duration: Full facelifts take longer but provide more dramatic rejuvenation for advanced aging.
  • Expert credentials: Bangkok surgeons like Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed over 20,000 operations.

Bookimed Expert Insight: The neck is the ultimate deal-breaker. If you have visible sagging there, a mini facelift often leads to dissatisfaction. The procedure cannot physically reposition neck tissue. Data shows that surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities, like Asia Cosmetic Hospital, maintain a 0% complication rate. They specifically match the technique to the patient's aging stage, not just their age.

Patient Consensus: Patients often find the scar difference between a mini and full lift is minimal. So they choose a more thorough lift. Those who chose the more thorough lift often say the initial recovery is worth it. The younger-looking results last for years.

Are there all-inclusive packages available for facelift surgery in Bangkok?

All-inclusive facelift packages are widely available in Bangkok. They usually include surgeon fees, anesthesia, and medical tests. Premium bundles often feature VIP airport transfers, 7-day hotel stays, and specialized post-operative care. The facilities are accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons Thailand or JCI.

  • Cost range: Packages typically range from $5,100 to $14,200 for surgical lifting.
  • Logistical support: Offers often include VIP private vehicles for airport, hotel, and clinic transfers.
  • Recovery logistics: Standard inclusions often cover a 1-day hospital stay and 2–7 nights hotel accommodation.
  • Medical fees: Bundled prices include preoperative consultations, anesthesia, surgical fees, and post-op medication.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Some clinics offer low-cost entry points, but ID Clinic Bangkok stands out. It bundles half-board meals and a full week of hotel stay for under $5,000. That's a big logistical advantage. Recovery typically requires 7–14 days in Thailand before flying home.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the gentle nursing care and professional administrative support. However, they recommend confirming the specific surgical technique beforehand to make sure outcomes match expectations.

What is the recovery process like after a facelift in Bangkok?

For the best healing, plan to stay 10 to 14 days in Bangkok. Peak swelling usually happens by day 3. Surgeons typically remove the first stitches between days 5 and 10. You'll feel ready to be seen in public after 2 weeks. But the final results continue to settle over 6 months.

  • Hospital stay: Most packages include a 1-night hospital stay for close monitoring.
  • Peak swelling: Expect the most swelling and bruising around day 3.
  • Suture removal: Surgeons usually take out facial stitches between days 5 and 10.
  • Physical activity: Avoid heavy lifting over 5 kg for at least 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Numbness: Temporary numbness around your ears or chin may last for months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While clinics may suggest traveling after 2 weeks, the best recoveries come from surgeons who do a high volume of procedures. Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok has performed over 20,000 operations. His experience leads to more precise suturing and shorter initial healing phases.

Patient Consensus: The first 2 weeks are the hardest because of intense tightness and visible bruising. Patients say it takes about 5 or 6 months of gradual healing to feel like yourself again.

What are the top clinics for a facelift in Bangkok in 2026?

Top clinics for a facelift in Bangkok include Asia Cosmetic Hospital, ID Clinic, Wansiri Hospital, and BKFL Clinic. These centers hold JCI accreditation, specialize in deep plane techniques, and report success rates up to 99%. Most offer all-inclusive packages that cover surgical fees and recovery accommodation.

  • Clinic accreditation: Asia Cosmetic Hospital holds JCI and ISO certifications for international safety standards.
  • Surgeon expertise: Dr. Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital has performed over 15,000 procedures.
  • Success rates: Wansiri Hospital maintains a 99% success rate for advanced deep plane facelifts.
  • Age reduction: BKFL Clinic specialists report patients typically see 5–10 years of facial rejuvenation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: High-volume clinics like ID Clinic Bangkok offer a strong clinical experience advantage. Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul alone has performed over 20,000 surgeries. That volume usually leads to more refined, natural-looking results. Check if your package includes at least 7 hotel days, like ID Clinic's standard offer.

Patient Consensus: Patients prefer hospital-based centers over standalone clinics because hospitals have critical surgical backup. They often recommend seeing several specialists during a one-week stay to compare consultation quality and before-and-after portfolios.

Is it safe to get a facelift in Bangkok?

Facelift surgery in Bangkok is safe when performed in facilities accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI). Highly-qualified surgeons often hold certification from the International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS). They follow strict protocols, which leads to success rates up to 99% for facial rejuvenation procedures.

  • Accreditation standards: Top hospitals have JCI and ISO certifications, so patient safety and hygiene standards are rigorous.
  • Surgeon expertise: Leading specialists like Dr. Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed over 15,000 successful procedures.
  • Techniques: Clinics offer deep plane and SMAS facelifts for natural, long-lasting rejuvenation.
  • Post-op care: Patients typically stay 10-14 days for monitoring and initial healing before traveling.

Bookimed Expert Insight: A high volume of requests does not always mean the best experience. Large hospitals handle 100,000+ patients annually. However, boutique specialized centers like BKFL Clinic focus exclusively on deep plane facelifts. These specialized clinics often provide more consistent results for facial rejuvenation than multi-disciplinary general hospitals.

Patient Consensus: Patients often praise the gentle care of Thai nursing staff and professional surgical outcomes. However, travelers warn that bruising can be extensive for 2-4 weeks. As a result, early travel can be uncomfortable, and careful recovery management becomes essential.

What types of facelifts are available in Bangkok?

Bangkok offers surgical facelift techniques, including deep plane, SMAS, and mini facelifts. Non-surgical options include thread lifts and injectables. JCI-accredited centers provide facial rejuvenation. They combine neck lifts, blepharoplasty, and endoscopic brow lifts for naturally refreshed results.

  • Surgical techniques: Deep plane and SMAS lifts treat deep tissue sagging for long-lasting results.
  • Minimally invasive: Mini, midface, and short-scar MACS-style lifts require smaller incisions and faster recovery.
  • Upper face: Endoscopic brow lifts (Endotine) and fox eye lifts target eyebrows and temples.
  • Lower face: Surgeons often bundle neck lifts and platysmaplasty to tighten the jawline and neck.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While clinics offer deep plane facelifts, the value gap in Bangkok is significant. For instance, packages at Asia Cosmetic Hospital include JCI-certified care and hotel stays for about _op_21_city_75$9,000. That's around 50% less than the US average of $17,900. High-volume surgeons here, some with over 20,000 procedures, often include VIP transfers and post-op care. Boutique clinics might charge extra for these services.

Patient Consensus: Patients say deep plane techniques give a natural, mobile look, not a pulled appearance. They suggest asking whether a neck lift or eyelid surgery is bundled. Clinics often treat these as a single rejuvenation project.

How long should I stay in Thailand for a facelift?

Plan to stay in Bangkok for 10 to 14 days for a facelift. A stay of this length gives you time for post-operative monitoring by board-certified surgeons. It also ensures safe stitch removal around day 7 to 10, before long-haul travel.

  • Hospital observation: Most patients spend 1 night hospitalized for immediate medical supervision.
  • Peak swelling: Bruising and swelling often peak within the first 3 to 5 days.
  • Suture removal: Surgeons typically remove non-dissolvable stitches between days 7 and 10.
  • Flight safety: Staying at least 10 days reduces risks of blood clots and pressure-related swelling.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Some clinics discharge patients as early as the second day. However, higher-tier packages include more. ID Clinic Bangkok, for example, offers 7 hotel days and half-board meals. This is strategic because swelling peaks on day 4. Having meals provided means you don't have to go out in public. This is especially helpful when you feel most vulnerable.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasize that the first week is physically demanding due to tightness and numbness. They recommend finishing all sightseeing before surgery. Recovery requires a lot of rest and sleeping with the head elevated.

What should I avoid before facelift surgery in Bangkok?

For at least 2 weeks before a facelift in Bangkok, avoid blood-thinning agents. Also steer clear of nicotine and herbal supplements. Surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities stress stopping aspirin, ibuprofen, and Vitamin E to prevent hematoma. Proper preparation leads to optimal results for techniques like SMAS and Deep Plane facelifts.

  • Medication restrictions: Skip aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen to reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising during surgery.
  • Supplement alert: Avoid fish oil, garlic pills, ginseng, and ginger because they thin the blood.
  • Lifestyle habits: Stop smoking and alcohol 14 days before surgery to ensure healthy blood flow.
  • Skin treatments: Postpone Ultherapy or Thermage for several months to avoid affecting deep tissue layers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital often report a 0% complication rate. This happens when patients strictly follow the nicotine ban. While US averages reach $17,900, Bangkok packages from $5,100 often include 7-day hotel stays. This built-in recovery time is vital. Flying too soon increases the risk of post-op swelling.

Patient Consensus: Patients find the strict fasting the night before the most challenging part of preparation. Others stressed that telling the surgical team about all current vitamins prevents unexpected pain. This is especially true during the first 24 hours of recovery.

What is a deep plane facelift?

A deep plane facelift is a surgical technique. It repositions sagging muscles and fat pads beneath the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS) layer. Surgeons release deep facial ligaments to restore midface and jawline contours. This gives natural results without a pulled or windswept look.

  • Target layers: Operates under the SMAS layer to reposition muscles and deep fat pads.
  • Ligament release: Releases certain retaining ligaments so deeper facial structures can move freely.
  • Longevity: Results typically last 10–15 years, much longer than traditional skin-only lifts.
  • Healing benefits: Keeps blood supply to skin tissues strong, which may reduce visible bruising.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics often offer deep plane packages that exceed Western standards. For instance, Asia Cosmetic Hospital is JCI-accredited. It has been recognized as Facelift Clinic of the Year. Patients can save around 50% compared to the US average of $17,900. They also receive care from internationally board-certified surgeons like Dr. Palapong Chayangsu.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that this approach restores their face to its original position. It doesn't look stretched. Recovery involves pressure and swelling for 2 weeks. But the lasting results for jowls and neck aging are highly valued.
