I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

- "My dental work as well as my amazing nose job - natural and perfect
Amazing service and was taken care of by Dr. Ana and the Bookimed team. I booked two services - dental crowns with Dr Ana and rhinoplasty with Dr Deborah at Gilenis. Easy process, and I am so so happy with the results. My new emax crowns and dental work are perfect, Dr Ana did a thorough job and guaranteed the work and did a follow up check with any revisions. Dr Deborah did my rhinoplasty. And I just sent her the biggest thank you note, as I was the most nervous on this procedure. I am at day 8, and my nose swelling is looking better and better everyday AND perfect!!!! I cannot wait to see the final final results, but I am so happy. It is still my nose and natural like I wanted, but so much better. My dorsal hump is gone, and my nostrils and tip are smaller and a little less round. And the profile - that is the biggest positive change immediately! I was on zoom today on day 8, and no one noticed but mentioned how good I looked (exactly what I wanted!). My dental work as well as my amazing nose job - natural and perfect. I plan to refer anyone who needs work done, and go back in a couple weeks for a lip lift as my nose is healing so well.

Our Rhinoplasty (nose job) Techniques: What Suits You Best?

When considering Rhinoplasty (nose job), it’s important to understand the different techniques and which is best suited for you. Here’s a concise comparison of popular options:

Tip Rhinoplasty

This procedure focuses on reshaping the nasal tip for improved aesthetics or function.

Pros: Less invasive than open rhinoplasty, with reduced swelling and shorter recovery. Offers precise results for nasal tip refinement.
Cons: Limited to the tip area, might not address broader nasal issues like closed or open rhinoplasty could.
Effectiveness: Success rate of 85-90% in achieving desired tip refinement.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 5-7 days
Best for: Nasal tip asymmetry, bulbous tip, over-projected tip correction.

Closed Rhinoplasty

Closed rhinoplasty is a nasal surgery technique where incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scars.

Pros: No external scars, shorter operating time, and reduced swelling compared to open rhinoplasty. It preserves nasal structure better than alarplasty.
Cons: Limited access to nasal structures, making complex revisions challenging. Not suitable for ultrasonic rhinoplasty precision.
Effectiveness: 85-90% success rate in achieving desired aesthetic outcomes.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 1-2 weeks
Best for: Minor nasal tip adjustments and dorsal hump reduction. Enhances facial symmetry.

Open Rhinoplasty

A surgical procedure allowing complete access to nasal structures for reshaping.

Pros: Offers precise modifications and visibility. Up to 95% accuracy in achieving desired nasal shape. Allows for extensive structural work not possible in closed rhinoplasty.
Cons: Longer recovery time due to external incision. Scarring risk, although minimal, is higher than closed rhinoplasty.
Effectiveness: Success rate is approximately 85-90% for achieving cosmetic goals.
Duration: 3-4 hours
Recovery: 1-2 weeks for initial recovery, with complete healing in 6-12 months.
Best for: Complex nasal deformities, major structural changes, and detailed aesthetic enhancements.
Prices: Cost of Open rhinoplasty in Mexico from $3550

Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct or enhance the results of a previous nose surgery.

Pros: Addresses previous surgery issues with precision, improving breathing in 70% of patients. Offers enhanced facial symmetry compared to initial rhinoplasty.
Cons: Longer recovery than tip rhinoplasty, with potential for increased swelling. Requires skilled surgeons, limiting options for some patients.
Effectiveness: 85% success rate in achieving desired aesthetic and functional outcomes.
Duration: 3-4 hours
Recovery: About 2-3 weeks for initial recovery, with full healing in 6-12 months.
Best for: Correcting previous nasal surgeries, improving nasal structure, addressing functional breathing issues.
Prices: Cost of Revision rhinoplasty in Mexico from $3306

Alarplasty

A surgical procedure to reduce the size of the nostrils for improved facial balance.

Pros: Quick procedure with minimal scarring. Faster recovery compared to open rhinoplasty. Enhances facial symmetry effectively.
Cons: Limited to nostril size reduction. Does not address nasal tip or bridge alterations.
Effectiveness: 95% patient satisfaction rate for nostril size reduction.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 5-7 days
Best for: Individuals looking to reduce wide nostrils. Suitable for ethnic nose reshaping.

Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty

Utilizes ultrasonic technology to reshape the nose with precision and minimal trauma.

Pros: Less bruising and swelling than traditional methods. Precise bone sculpting reduces tissue damage by 30%.
Cons: Limited availability of experienced surgeons. May not address complex nasal deformities effectively.
Effectiveness: 85% success rate in achieving desired nasal structure.
Duration: 1-3 hours
Recovery: 7-10 days
Best for: Enhancing nasal symmetry and contour with minimal invasiveness.
Prices: Cost of Ultrasonic rhinoplasty in Mexico from $3600

FAQ about Rhinoplasty (nose job) in Mexico

What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a "nose job," is a type of plastic surgery procedure that reshapes, resizes, or reconstructs the nose. It can be performed for cosmetic reasons, to enhance facial symmetry, or for functional purposes, to correct breathing issues caused by structural defects in the nose.

Why do people go to Mexico for nose surgery?

People often choose to go to Mexico for nose surgery due to a combination of affordability, expertise, and accessibility. The cost of rhinoplasty in Mexico can be significantly lower than in many other countries, especially the United States, due to lower living costs. Additionally, Mexican surgeons are known for their high levels of expertise and experience in cosmetic procedures, including rhinoplasty. Lastly, for those living in North America, travelling to Mexico can be convenient and relatively quick.

What methods are used in nose job (give at least 3 options with descriptions)?

There are several methods used in rhinoplasty:

  • Open Rhinoplasty: involves a cut in the strip of skin separating the nostrils to allow the surgeon direct view of the cartilage and bone structure. This method is typically used for more complex procedures.
  • Closed Rhinoplasty: all incisions are made inside the nose. This approach leaves no visible scars and tends to have a quicker recovery time, but it may not be suitable for more complex procedures.
  • Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty: uses injectable fillers to alter the shape, position, or size of the nose. This is a less invasive option, but the results are temporary and it cannot be used to correct functional issues.

How do you get ready for rhinoplasty?

Preparation for rhinoplasty generally involves a few key steps:

  • Stopping smoking and avoiding alcohol for a certain period before surgery, as they can interfere with anesthesia and healing.
  • Avoiding medications and supplements that can increase bleeding, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or vitamin E.
  • Arranging for someone to drive you home after the procedure and help you for a few days while you recover.

What care is needed after nose reshaping?

After nose reshaping, patients should:

  • Rest and avoid strenuous activities.
  • Keep the head elevated, especially when sleeping.
  • Avoid blowing the nose.
  • Use cold compresses to reduce swelling.
  • Follow all post-operative care instructions provided by the surgeon.

What are the possible risks with rhino?

Like any surgical procedure, rhinoplasty has potential risks, including infection, bleeding, adverse reaction to anesthesia, difficulty breathing through the nose, permanent numbness in the nose, an unsatisfactory appearance, and the need for additional surgery.

Are there different methods for rhinoplasty in Mexico? How do they compare?

The methods for rhinoplasty in Mexico are generally the same as those used worldwide, including open rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty, and non-surgical rhinoplasty. The choice of method will depend on the patient's specific needs and the surgeon's expertise. However, thanks to their robust medical tourism industry, Mexican surgeons may offer additional services such as recovery packages or unique surgical techniques.

Who should consider nose job surgery?

Nose job surgery should be considered by individuals who are dissatisfied with the size or shape of their nose, those who have breathing problems due to irregularities in their nose, or those who have suffered injuries that have disfigured their nose. It's important that candidates for rhinoplasty are in good health, have realistic expectations about the outcome, and understand the risks and benefits of the procedure.

When is a good time to get rhinoplasty?

A good time to get rhinoplasty is when a person has fully considered the procedure, its risks and benefits, and has decided that it's the best option to achieve their desired outcome. They should be in good health and preferably a non-smoker, as smoking can affect recovery. It's also recommended to schedule the procedure at a time when they can take a few weeks off from work or school to recover.

Do clinics offer a check-up before nose reshaping?

Yes, most clinics will offer a pre-operative check-up before rhinoplasty. This typically includes a physical exam, a review of the patient's medical history, and possibly some lab tests. The surgeon will also discuss the procedure, the expected results, and the recovery process.

What's included in the nose job package in Mexico?

In Mexico, a nose job package typically includes the surgeon's fees, the cost of the anesthesia, the operating room fees, and post-operative care. Some packages may also include accommodations for recovery, transportation, and post-operative check-ups.

What other treatments do clinics in Mexico offer besides rhinoplasty?

Many clinics in Mexico offer a wide range of plastic surgery procedures besides rhinoplasty, including facelifts, breast augmentations, liposuction, tummy tucks, and more. They may also offer non-surgical treatments, such as botox injections, dermal fillers, and laser treatments.

What qualifications should the surgeon have?

A qualified rhinoplasty surgeon should have a medical degree and specific training in plastic surgery. They should also be board certified by a recognized professional organization, such as the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the Mexican Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This ensures that they have met rigorous standards of education, training, and ethics.

What awards should a good clinic have?

A good clinic should have recognition from reputable industry organizations, as this indicates a high level of quality and professionalism. This could include awards for patient safety, excellence in cosmetic surgery, or outstanding patient satisfaction. It's also a good sign if the clinic is accredited by an international healthcare accrediting body, as this means it meets global standards for healthcare quality.
