How Much Does Rhinoplasty (nose job) Cost in Cancún?

Rhinoplasty (nose job) in Cancún typically costs from $3,500 to $5,600. Pricing depends on the surgical technique used, the complexity of your nasal structure, and the surgeon's experience level. Patients save around 72% compared to the US, where this procedure costs $16,000 on average. Most Cancún clinics include the surgical fee, anesthesia, facility costs, and initial follow-up visits in their quotes.

  • Technique: Advanced ultrasonic or piezo methods typically add 20-30% compared to traditional manual sculpting.

My experience with the surgeon, staff, and clinic has been very positive
If a friend was considering this, I'd tell them my experience with the surgeon, staff, and clinic has been very positive. At this point in my recovery, everything is feeling about as expected. The clinic team has stayed in touch, and I really appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I initially paid. That was a relief. My main piece of advice would be to prepare well for your consultation. I would suggest asking for more time with the doctor before surgery and to bring pictures of what you’d like done specifically to make sure you're aligned.
I was assisted from beginning to end! Great price with a great and safe experience.

I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

My experience with Dr. Ayala was quite unfortunate... He only spoke with me for about 10 minutes before the surgery and was very reluctant to answer questions afterward when I expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the neck and ear surgery. He mentioned that I could come back in a couple of months for corrections. When I returned, I decided to have an abdominal liposuction at the same time, and again there was a lack of follow-up regarding what I should do, wear, or any other post-operative instructions... Once more, one of my ears was not corrected and looked even worse than before. When I returned to have the sutures removed, I pointed this out, and he said it was normal, whereas I argued that my other ear looked fine, but this one did not. His only suggestion was to wait another couple of months and to return once more. At that point, I showed him my liposuction, which also looked poorly done, with a lot of fibrosis... He provided no advice other than recommending ultrasonic treatments. I looked online and found out I should be wearing compression garments and getting lymphatic drainage massages for the fluid buildup. When I visited a masseuse, she explained everything I needed to do, but it also cost me an additional thousand dollars. The entire experience was very disappointing, and now I have to see another surgeon to correct one of my ears, hopefully for the last time. It all started on January 3, and now it's already May, and I still haven’t resolved the problem! I really liked everyone I worked with, but I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them to anyone because I know they work at this clinic. I know others would be very disappointed as well!

FAQ about treatment in Mexico

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How long should I stay in Cancún for rhinoplasty?

Most patients should stay in Cancún for 7 to 14 days after rhinoplasty. This way, you are there for the critical one-week follow-up. The extra days also let the initial swelling go down. Then you can handle the air pressure changes of the flight home.

  • Arrival timing: Arrive 1 day before surgery for pre-operative consultations and required lab tests.
  • Hospital stay: Expect 1 night of hospitalization followed by 7 to 10 days of local recovery.
  • Follow-up window: Spend at least 7 days in the city for splint and bandage removal.
  • Flight safety: Surgeons advise waiting 10 to 14 days before flying to prevent post-op bleeding.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a gap between clinic packages and recovery reality. Most Cancún packages include only 2 to 3 nights of accommodation. However, experienced surgeons like those at Riviera Institute For Plastic Surgery often schedule the final bandage removal exactly 7 days post-op. Booking a total of 10 days makes sure you don't feel rushed. You also get a 48-hour buffer after your final check-up before boarding a long flight.

Patient Consensus: Patients often find the first 3 days the hardest. Fatigue and disrupted sleep are the main reasons. A 10-day stay lets you recover in private. You avoid the airport while you're still bruised.

Is it safe to get a rhinoplasty (nose job) in Cancún?

Rhinoplasty in Cancún is safe. The key is choosing a surgeon certified by the Mexican Council of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (CMCPER). The hospital must also be accredited. Facilities like Riviera Institute For Plastic Surgery hold Joint Commission International accreditation. This means their surgical standards match those in the United States.

  • Surgeon credentials: Most reputable surgeons maintain American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) membership.
  • Hospital standards: Centers use internationally certified hospitals with emergency resources and intensive care.
  • Safety protocols: Surgeons like Dr. Rafael Velasco Marin bring over 30 years of experience.
  • Regulatory oversight: Mexican boards require surgeons to recertify every 5 years.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Cost savings attract patients to Cancún. But the real safety indicator is the surgeon's hospital affiliation. High-volume specialists like Dr. Victor Samano perform surgeries only in internationally certified hospitals. That distinction matters. These hospitals provide essential backup support that smaller, independent clinics may lack.

Patient Consensus: Patients say safety depends on choosing the doctor, not the destination. They also recommend checking hospital accreditations and arranging professional follow-up care before traveling home.

Can I combine rhinoplasty with breathing improvements in Cancún?

You can combine cosmetic rhinoplasty with functional breathing improvements in Cancún. The procedure is called septorhinoplasty. Surgeons fix deviated septums or turbinates while reshaping the nose. Patients typically need 7 to 9 days in Cancún for surgery and initial recovery.

  • Procedure range: Combined surgeries typically cost $3,500 to $5,600.
  • US comparison: Patients save around 72% compared to average $16,000 US costs.
  • Surgeon credentials: Top specialists hold Mexican Council of Plastic Surgery (CMCPER) board certification.
  • Safety standards: Major facilities like Riviera Institute maintain rigorous Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Cancún clinics offer exceptional value by pairing high-volume surgeons with accredited hospital settings. Dr. Víctor Samano performs all procedures in internationally certified hospitals to ensure safety. This kind of institutional oversight is standard for providers like Riviera Institute.

Patient Consensus: Patients often find breathing improves significantly once internal swelling subsides after several months. They stress that discussing nasal valve support during the consultation helps prevent future congestion.
