How Much Does Rhinoplasty (nose job) Cost in Mexico?

A rhinoplasty (nose job) in Mexico typically costs between $3,600 to $5,500. Prices vary by city, surgeon experience, and type of procedure. Tijuana and Mexico City offer some of the most affordable options. Compared to the U.S., where rhinoplasty often costs $8,000 to $15,000, getting the same surgery in Mexico can save you up to 70%. This makes it a popular choice for medical tourists looking for quality care at lower prices.

Where is it cheaper to get a nose job?

It’s cheaper to get a nose job in countries like Mexico, Turkey, and Thailand. In Mexico, the average price ranges from $2,800 to $4,500. In Turkey, costs can be as low as $2,500. In contrast, the same procedure in the U.S. can cost $8,000 to $15,000. Many patients travel abroad to save on surgical fees and facility costs while still getting quality care.

What is the cheapest country for a nose job?

Turkey is considered one of the cheapest countries for a nose job, with prices starting around $2,000. Mexico also offers affordable options from $2,800 to $4,500. Other low-cost destinations include India and Thailand. Prices are lower due to reduced overhead and labor costs, not because of lower quality.

Is it cheaper to get surgery in Mexico?

Yes, surgery in Mexico is much cheaper than in the U.S. or Canada. A rhinoplasty in Mexico costs around $2,800 to $4,500, while the same surgery in the U.S. can exceed $10,000. Lower costs in Mexico come from cheaper labor, lower facility expenses, and favorable currency exchange rates.

How much is a good nose job in the US?

A quality rhinoplasty in the U.S. usually costs between $8,000 and $15,000. The price can vary based on surgeon reputation, location, and whether it’s a primary or revision surgery. Big cities like New York or Los Angeles tend to have the highest prices.

How expensive is a non-surgical nose job?

Non-surgical nose jobs cost between $600 and $1,500 depending on location and filler type. These are temporary procedures using dermal fillers to smooth out bumps or reshape the nose. Results usually last 6 to 12 months and need repeat treatments to maintain the effect.

What makes a nose job cheaper?

A nose job may be cheaper if done in a low-cost country, at a public hospital, or by a less experienced surgeon. Costs also drop when fewer changes are needed. Closed rhinoplasty is usually less expensive than open surgery. Additional charges for anesthesia and facility use can affect total cost.

Why is plastic surgery so cheap in Mexico?

Plastic surgery is cheaper in Mexico because of lower labor costs, less regulation, and cheaper real estate. Surgeons also pay lower insurance and facility fees. These savings get passed to patients, making procedures like rhinoplasty 50–70% less than in the U.S.

How do people afford a nose job?

Many people use medical loans, payment plans, or credit cards to afford a nose job. Some choose to travel to countries like Mexico where it’s more affordable. Clinics often offer financing options to spread the cost over time. Others save up over months or years for the procedure.

Listed prices reflect the minimum treatment rates provided by verified Bookimed partner clinics. Final costs may vary depending on individual case details. Submit a request on Bookimed to receive a personalized quote.

My experience has been very bad with Dr. Ayala… He only spoke with me for about 10 minutes before my surgery and afterwards was very reluctant to answer any questions when I said I was not happy with the outcome of my neck and ears. He said I could come back in a couple of months to have it fixed. When I came back. I decided to do liposuction on my abdominal area at the same time again the same thing no follow up as far as what I should be doing or wearing or anything… Again, one of my ears was not corrected and looked actually worse than before. When I came back to get my stitches out I pointed that out and he said that was normal and I argued saying that my other ear came out fine and this year looked bad. He said he couldn’t do anything else except wait for another couple of months and have me come back again. At this point, I showed him my liposuction, which looked bad as well with a lot of fibrosis happening… He gave no recommendation except to have ultrasound treatment done. I went online and discovered I should be wearing compression garments as well as getting massage for lymphatic fluid, which was building up. Once I went to the masseuse, she informed me of all the things I needed to be doing, but this is also cost me an extra thousand dollars. The whole experience was very disappointing and now I need to go to another surgeon to get one of my ears fixed hopefully for the last time But this all started Jan 3 and we are now into May and I’m still not out of the woods! I actually liked the personalities of everybody that I worked with, but I cannot in good conscience. Recommend them to anyone else because I know they will be very disappointed!

I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

Our Rhinoplasty (nose job) Techniques: What Suits You Best?

When considering Rhinoplasty (nose job), it’s important to understand the different techniques and which is best suited for you. Here’s a concise comparison of popular options:

tip-rhinoplasty

Tip Rhinoplasty

This procedure focuses on reshaping the nasal tip for improved aesthetics or function.

Pros: Less invasive than open rhinoplasty, with reduced swelling and shorter recovery. Offers precise results for nasal tip refinement.
Cons: Limited to the tip area, might not address broader nasal issues like closed or open rhinoplasty could.
Effectiveness: Success rate of 85-90% in achieving desired tip refinement.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 5-7 days
Best for: Nasal tip asymmetry, bulbous tip, over-projected tip correction.

closed-rhinoplasty

Closed Rhinoplasty

Closed rhinoplasty is a nasal surgery technique where incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scars.

Pros: No external scars, shorter operating time, and reduced swelling compared to open rhinoplasty. It preserves nasal structure better than alarplasty.
Cons: Limited access to nasal structures, making complex revisions challenging. Not suitable for ultrasonic rhinoplasty precision.
Effectiveness: 85-90% success rate in achieving desired aesthetic outcomes.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 1-2 weeks

A surgical procedure allowing complete access to nasal structures for reshaping.

Pros: Offers precise modifications and visibility. Up to 95% accuracy in achieving desired nasal shape. Allows for extensive structural work not possible in closed rhinoplasty.
Cons: Longer recovery time due to external incision. Scarring risk, although minimal, is higher than closed rhinoplasty.
Effectiveness: Success rate is approximately 85-90% for achieving cosmetic goals.
Duration: 3-4 hours
Recovery: 1-2 weeks for initial recovery, with complete healing in 6-12 months.
Best for: Complex nasal deformities, major structural changes, and detailed aesthetic enhancements.
Prices: Cost of Open rhinoplasty in Mexico from $2,500

Pros: Addresses previous surgery issues with precision, improving breathing in 70% of patients. Offers enhanced facial symmetry compared to initial rhinoplasty.
Cons: Longer recovery than tip rhinoplasty, with potential for increased swelling. Requires skilled surgeons, limiting options for some patients.
Effectiveness: 85% success rate in achieving desired aesthetic and functional outcomes.
Duration: 3-4 hours
Recovery: About 2-3 weeks for initial recovery, with full healing in 6-12 months.
Best for: Correcting previous nasal surgeries, improving nasal structure, addressing functional breathing issues.
Prices: Cost of Revision rhinoplasty in Mexico from $3,306
alarplasty

Alarplasty

A surgical procedure to reduce the size of the nostrils for improved facial balance.

Pros: Quick procedure with minimal scarring. Faster recovery compared to open rhinoplasty. Enhances facial symmetry effectively.

Yes—with the right clinic and surgeon. Mexico has board-certified plastic surgeons with American and European accreditations (ASPS, ISAPS) and clinics that meet international safety standards (COFEPRIS, JCI, ISO).

To ensure a safe rhinoplasty procedure:

✔ Choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in rhinoplasty.

✔ Verify clinic credentials and patient reviews.

✔ Follow all pre-op and post-op instructions.

Types of Nose Surgery Performed in Mexico

rhinoplasty types: open rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty, and others

  • Open rhinoplasty. Open rhinoplasty involves a small incision under the nose for full access. Best for major nose reshaping.
  • Closed rhinoplasty. In closed rhinoplasty, surgeons make incisions inside the nostrils to leave no visible scars. Best for minor adjustments.
  • Osteotomy rhinoplasty. Instead of adjusting cartilage and nasal tissues, osteotomy rhinoplasty involves precise bone cuts to reshape or narrow the nasal bridge, correct asymmetry, or fix fractures.
  • Tip rhinoplasty. Reshapes only the nasal tip. Ideal for refining bulbous, drooping, or upturned tips.
  • Revision rhinoplasty. Corrects asymmetry, breathing issues, or unsatisfactory results from a previous nose job.
  • Ethnic rhinoplasty. Ethnic rhinoplasty in Mexico enhances the natural beauty of Middle Eastern, African, and Asian noses.
  • Alarplasty. Reduces nostril width for better facial harmony.
  • Ultrasonic rhinoplasty. Uses sound waves for precise bone reshaping, leading to less swelling.
  • Liquid rhinoplasty. A non-surgical option that uses fillers. Results are immediate but temporary (6–18 months).

Rhinoplasty vs. Other Procedures: What’s the Difference?

👉 Rhinoplasty. Reshapes the nose for aesthetic enhancement. Breathing may improve as a side effect, but that’s not its primary goal.

👉 Septoplasty. A medical procedure that straightens a deviated septum to improve airflow and help with chronic breathing problems. It does not change the external appearance of the nose.

👉 Septorhinoplasty. A combination of both. This procedure corrects breathing issues while also refining the nose’s shape. Ideal for both functional and cosmetic improvements.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Nose Surgery in Mexico?

You may be a good fit for rhinoplasty if:

✔️ You’re in good health with no serious medical conditions.

✔️ You don’t smoke or are willing to quit temporarily.

✔️ You have realistic expectations about cosmetic surgery.

✔️ You’re making the decision for yourself—not due to pressure from others.

  • temporary breathing difficulties;
  • infection;
  • nosebleeds;
  • poor wound healing;
  • temporary numbness;
  • asymmetry;
  • scarring;
  • dissatisfaction with the results, requiring revision plastic surgery.

Mexico Nose Job Results

After 6–12 months, once the swelling is fully gone, the nose takes on its final shape. It looks more refined and proportionate. If functional corrections were made, breathing will also improve.

No scarring. Closed rhinoplasty leaves no visible scars. Open rhinoplasty may leave a small scar under the nose but it fades with time.

Permanent results. Changes won’t reverse unless affected by aging, injury, or revision surgery.
