Giorgio Giovannelli was born in Rome on 18 April 1971.
He obtained his scientific high school diploma in the 1988/1989 school year at the “San Giuseppe Calasanzio” Institute in Rome.
In the 1989/1990 academic year he enrolled in the degree course in Medicine and Surgery at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome.
On 22 March 1997 he obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery discussing the experimental thesis in Plastic Surgery concerning the reconstruction of the breast entitled "Clinical and hemodynamic study on the phenomenon of autonomization in the myocutaneous flap of the rectus abdominis muscle (TRAM) ”, speaker Prof. Nicolò Scuderi.
He obtained the qualification to practice as a Doctor-Surgeon in the first session relating to the 1997 academic year.
In the A.Y. 2000/2001, being the winner of the relevant competition based on qualifications and exams, he enrolled in the first year of the specialization school in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Catholic University of Rome directed by Prof. Eugenio Farallo.
He attended, as a medical resident, the Plastic Surgery department of the “A. University Hospital” until January 2006. Gemelli” in Rome, directed by the head physician Prof. Eugenio Farallo, participating in the activities of the clinic, department and operating room.
On 10 February 2006 he obtained his specialization in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with top marks, discussing the thesis entitled "Losses of substance in the lower limb; reconstructive techniques and the role of the plastic surgeon”, speaker Prof. Eugenio Farallo.
The scientific activity took the form of participation in congresses of the specialty, both national and international, refresher courses, reports at congresses of the specialty and the drafting and publication of scientific works in national and international specialist journals.
The studies and research carried out have concerned practically all sectors of plastic surgery with particular attention to the development of new techniques for cosmetic surgery and for the surgical therapy of skin tumors.
